I look at the data every day. The data pretty clearly indicates that this is the worst epidemic/pandemic in over a century and if not for vaccines we could very easily reach 10s of millions dead around the world.

Individual mortality isn't the only thing that makes an infectious disease dangerous, often times transmissibility is more important. Theres a reason why covid has killed 100x people than the last few major ebola outbreaks despite the fact that ebola is like 1000x deadlier than covid in terms of case-mortality ratios.

1) just under 1% mortality is a devastating number for an infectious disease that has the potential to infect a billion or more people.

2) it doesn't just kill. It can hospitalize you and leave you with devastating long-term health consequences.

3) our hospitals don't need you morons overburdening them more than you already have

Can't tailor your resume or make a cover letter for every job, you need to be applying to hundreds, if not thousands, of jobs.

Finding my first job after college was like the most soul crushing experience I've ever had in my life. Started having anxiety levels so bad that I couldn't fall asleep.

I eventually got a job after like 1000+ applications.

It was pretty low pay but they basically spent the first few months training me in data science and I have since moved up to a much better position.

It wasn't a job I found on any recruiting site, I straight up emailed some random researcher/professor and told him I was interested in his work and sent him my resume.

Edit: Also, I recommend everyone just completely ignore the "1-3 years experience" part on most job applications. Experience doesn't matter for entry level stuff and if you have some of the relevant coursework you will at the very least get interviews.

Secondly, if we took this to its final conclusion where anyone could discriminate against anyone for religious reasons or whatever, it wouldn't be that Christians and LGBT+ people suffer equally or are equally prosperous, and the free market wouldn't fix anything. The society that we would be living in is the one we had pre civil rights. Basically LGBT+ are shunned and terrorized out of existence and evangelical Christians rule over our society. There is literally historical precedent for this. Your dumb libertarian utopia would never exist.

Anyway, in an ideal world the free market would crush them but I see the danger of it not in this type of situation. So fine the fuck out of them imo

Yup. That's pretty much exactly the point. There are some problems the free market can fix but this simply is not one of them. What conservatives are really pushing for is the "freedom" to basically shun groups they don't like out of existence. Too many people responded to this situation back in 2012 like "who cares it's just a cake shop, go to another one!", but the problem is a SC decision could potentially have much farther reaching consequences. If the SC gets stacked with 9 conservative justices and another case like this makes it up there it is entirely possible we end up with it being legal to totally refuse any kind of service to LGBT+ people for "religious freedom." Basically LGBT+ would all have to go back into the closet if they want to survive. That's what conservatives want but they package it as "freedom from government regulation." It's the positive vs negative liberty dilemma.

You are missing the point entirely or you are a conservative lunatic/troll. Of course if you are buying a tiered wedding cake you should look into the place to make sure they actually make good cakes.

The other dipshit poster wasn't suggesting that. He was saying the transgender person should have checked to see that the cake shop in question wouldn't discriminate against them.

That is not something people normally have to do everyday. You are saying that it is reasonable to check reviews of a business in regards to their product quality and then concluding that it is also totally reasonable for LGBT+ people to have to check businesses to make sure they won't be discriminated against.
