yes the PS2's joysticks were pretty bad. if I remember with that game there was a controller configuration that made it usable but its not the default one (strafing with either the dpad or R1/L1 buttons, I can't remember)

I thought the doll section of the game was a pretty good dash of survival horror from PT, and concepts from the cancelled Resident Evil 3.5 where Leon was fighting dolls and ghosts (before it was scrapped and RE4 was what came out)
