An Alabama doctor is opening up about her experience treating those hospitalized for the coronavirus amid a resurgence of cases, saying dying patients are asking her to vaccinate them. Alabama has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the country, with only 33 percent of its population fully vaccinated, according to data from John Hopkins University. Right - I was planning on making it pretty basic - but I'd still like it to animate decently and feel fun to control. Even if enemies are literal triangles, hexagons and stuff like that, lol. Like - I fully expect just drawing each thing with my basic ass paint 3d skills will take like a day each. That type of thing. But again, even though things will look simple I want it still to be a visually pleasant game to look at, if that makes sense. Colors, composition and stuff. Eh, I'm probably getting ahead of myself. Make it a pixel graphics metroidvania That's where I was heading, except I can't draw sprites to the characters are going to be very basic shapes and shit, lol. But I think I can pump some personality into it nonetheless. I do have a programming background. So most of the effort will be in the gameplay itself, physics and mechanics and stuff. The visual assets are going to be rudimentary. The music - I actually know someone who makes music so I'll work with him. This is just a hobbyist thing mind you - haven't started it yet, and it would probably be the type of thing I work on every once and a while over the next couple of years. But still - it COULD come to fruition. Someday lol. But yes it would be a Metroidvania style of game. I think its a genre I not only really like but form a single-person game creating point of view it's approachable at least. --- |

But I think it'll be fun to dick around in and see if I can't actually complete a game, AND have it play fun. If it's worth a damn I might publish it on Steam or something someday. If its shit probably for free or 99 cents. If it's not shit then maybe $5 or something. Kinda doing this out of boredom/interest in learning/why not. So yeah. Any pitfalls to watch out for, I guess? --- |

So you buy cheap, and in 3 months they're worn out, causing you to need to buy another pair. Whereas the expensive boots would have lasted you 2 years or more, costing you less over time. Good investments cost more up front but save you money in the long run. If you have no money, you pay less immediately but more over time. The same is true for many types of products and situations. Sometimes you spend a bit more money to save money. --- |
