Volkswagen beetle is a girls car. Literally has a flower holder on the dash.

Just last year a shop lifter ran right past me in the parking lot with security chasing him. Security didn't catch him. I could have easily clotheslined him. And then I would go to jail for assault. Better to just let him run and stay out of the way.

I wonder how many people that care about her race would have watched if she was white

Personally I don't care because I have no desire to see a little mermaid live action remake regardless of the acts
Well she's basically fap material. It's not like the story is actually good. It's a story about an underaged girl believing sex sells and that girls don't need a voice, they just need to be pretty. The big revelation at the end is that the girl that has the pretty voice will win.
I'm not sure how to salvage such a story in a live action.

I think you have good intentions. I just think the idea is stupid to make so many CGI character. Especially when theyll still have a ton of real actors they have to pay. And Disney isnt going to waste money like that. They actually try to make a profit. That would just be a bad business decision
If they keep waiting on this, eventually people are just going to use deepfake to do it for them.
I wonder what ramifications that would have for copyright?

work because it actually losses then money And because using CGI would be worse then real humans, youd need a ton of actors, which youd have to pay And youd have to release them individually, which would also just be an issue. Youd only be able to put a few in theaters, as well
Characters 100% cgi is becoming normal. Will Smith had an entire movie with his fake younger self. All aquaman characters became CGI when they went underwater and you could barely tell.
Making a bunch of character models and rerunning the render process for a bunch of variations isn't that big of a leap. They even already did it with the sonic movie where in the space of a few months completely changed Sonic.
The tech to do this exists now. And a movie with so much of it underwater will use CGI exactly like aquaman, so why not make it with several CGI models?
And how could you pass up Chinese Ariel and get that Chinese money they so covet?

While there is a lot of CGI, the human characters are usually played by real humans who would want to be paid So, it would probably end up costing a ton And not making that much back
That's like their entire ethos with these remakes. Cost a ton and not make it back. But make a statement.
Imagine the statement they could make by letting viewers choose their MC. Imagine the waves it would create from the analytics of people's choices. With one movie they could rock the entire industry and the world's collective perception of itself.

Gotta go with the bad track record thing. Half expect the other side of the beach is a concentration camp or something.
Also not sure about the casting. Seems miscast.

However, if we're talking racially, the characters skin colour doesn't change the story at all. So it doesn't really matter. But neither does their gender. And since these movies have so much CGI in them already, I think Disney should put in the effort and film every scene with every possible race and gender combination so viewers can choose which one they want to watch. They could even rewatch and switch it up. What happens if Ariel is a guy? Etc. With all the CGI, you could conceivably have a create a character option at the start of the movie to customize the MC however you want.

Sometimes I do wish my older pickup had a backup camera, but I love being able to roll down the windows without having the key anywhere near it. (I might get a camera kit later.)
I'm glad carburetors are dead and I wouldn't hate cvts if they would just build them correctly instead of trying to emulate old hydro transmissions.

Modern cars? Yes there is definitely a reliability issue. But it's nothing new, it's just publicized more. And honestly not enough.
Some of it is just them being made as cheap as possible.
And crossovers are built terribly. They all have serious issues. From ignition failure two rear suspension geometry causing premature wear on the rear tires.

I don't have a long car history.
But my 97 Chevy Lumina required antifreeze that reacted with the head gasket, causing it to corrode and always fail at 160k km. Also the rear struts always broke, transmission had a pressure issues, the bodywork was full of foam that would hold water and rust the car from the inside out, the ignition failed several times while driving, and the piston slap was extreme.
My second car was a Ford Taurus. It was scared of water and would cause misfires if you hit a puddle. The floor rotted in 6 the passenger side to make a football sized hole because during manufacturing they couldn't be bothered to make sure the drain hose under the hood actually didn't have a kink in it. this would cause water to fill in the tray under the dash and dump down into the fresh air intake for your heater. This would cause it to flood out and inside the car under the rug so you wouldn't see it. The driver side floor rusted out where the emergency brake line runs through the floor. most of the electrical accessories such as the electrical moving seat had exposed bare wire sitting on the floor of the car. The transmission failed at 220,000 km.
Mitsubishi eclipse. complete catastrophic failure of all the hydraulic systems causing a complete loss of braking. The reason for the problem was that apparently they used water instead of brake fluid I guess, because the valves in the ABS system would rust open, causing the brakes to simply not work. This was not covered under warranty and they would not fix it until I threatened them with a lawsuit for ignoring the recall. They had to change all the hydraulics in the car for $6,000.
So far the most reliable car I've had is my current kia forte. Though it comes from the unreliable years, it has only had various emissions errors related to solenoids and valves and stuff in the gas tank. The only other major issue is that the paint job is so terrible that it's literally cracking on the roof. It started doing this after the first year.

I don't mind property tax if you actually own property. If all you own is a condo unit floating in the air. Taxes should be based on a % of your units sqft against the combined sqft of every other unit in your stack.

TopicMech Vs. Tank: Another Topic

Worth pointing out that tanks are on their way out in usefulness. I'd imagine a mech would suffer the same issue. Too easy to disable the crew or mech. Weapons have outpaced armor. So tanks have become slow moving targets. A mech is just a giant version of a slow moving target that is also really tall and easy to shoot at from a long distance away.
