For people saying they don't support the death penalty. Why?

If some senseless person murdered my daughter (I don't actually have kids, I'm just saying hypothetically), I would want that person to take responsibility for it. There's no life imprisonment that is an acceptable enough punishment. Why should the criminal live when my hypothetical daughter didn't get that chance?
I can see where you're coming from and if we had a "perfect justice system" I would probably change my mind, but personally I think that as it is right now:
  • innocent people being sentenced to death is much worse than the benefit people see in sentencing actual criminals to death
  • there's too much bullshit (especially when it comes to racial bias, etc) going on in the courts that we can consider every single judgement purely objective and 100% justified
  • who should get the power/authority to decide whether a crime is worthy of the death penalty or not?

You're joking right? Right?!
idk man, after following the story for so long, the ending feels kind of lackluster

Even if you like physics, studying it as a degree is eventually going to end up being very dull, especially since you'll have to take courses you won't be interested in at all.
I've never met a single person who fully enjoyed both the highly theoretical as well as the highly practical/experimental parts.
A lot of your fellow students are going to be weird (bit of a generalization, but call it empirical analysis).
During social occasions, if other people ask you what you're studying and you say physics, you can pin point the moment where they stop caring about talking to you.
Most importantly, a lot of your lectures are going to be garbage since the lecturers will be researchers and probably just read their slides to get any kind of personal interaction over with (my university had one of the highest lecture rankings worldwide for physics and they were still incredibly crappy and most students didn't bother showing up).

Idk, it's late and I'm just ranting a bit, take everything I said above with a grain of salt.
If you have any questions or want to get more insight into physics and quantum mechanics and stuff, feel free to ask I guess, I know a fair bit about that.

Keep in mind that actual string theory is a lot different from the pop culture version that movies and articles tell you about.

"I want to be on the cutting edge of discovery when it comes to String Theory".... you would be very disappointed there
"I would have to study physics to do that" mathematics would probably be enough tbh
'Why not study physics?" I did my undergrad and grad in physics and could give you an almost endless list of why not to study physics lol
