That sounds more like the older people I've talked to over the last... forever.

4 bed rooms, 2.5 baths, big backyard, no mortgage.

Let's "pretend" that outside of that, I don't have much going for me in any facet of life. Actually, let's just say that as far as material possessions and aesthetic value go, I am below average, at best, in every other aspect of conventional attractiveness. I do have some intangibles that I've been complimented on but that usually only happens amid a flurry of insults about everything else wrong with me, so I don't lean too hard on them.

Anyway, where does this get me? And if it gets me anywhere, how do I actually implement it during courtship? I might be socially stupid but I don't think it would be wise to be like, "I might be defective in every other way but I do have a house you can live in if you play your cards right."

Or would it?

Thoughts? Advice?

Also, I'm 33 fwiw.

There is a whole movement of no soapers, people who just rinse daily with their hands and don't use any kind of soap. If they use deodorant, it's something light and natural. They swear they don't stink and others don't notice but idk about the veracity of those claims.

I tried to give it a try but I couldn't even get past one day because I need extra strength science to combat my stank.

They're succeeding at intentionally increasing the spread.

TopicTransmen Are Triggered Over Lil Nas X Saying He Likes Dick
TheLiarParadox

#137
I'm not trans (at least I don't think so) but I've had my mind and body terribly out of sync on several levels (including gender) and constantly have people around me not respecting that, if they're even capable of seeing that I have that struggle in the first place. I have somewhat of an understanding where the tweeter is coming from, so I empathize with them, but I also have a much better idea of Lil Nas X's position and that's a bitch to deal with.

I try to be as respectful as possible but I've royally pissed off a lot of people just by candidly expressing myself while trying to find my footing as a queer person. And I don't think they were necessarily wrong to get mad but I wasn't wrong, either, to express myself as I did.

I don't want to say anything about what that tweeter and people with similar views said, or how they should feel or express themselves. I don't want to be like, "Your struggle to find peace, respect, and acceptance is complicating mine" and I don't want to cause anyone discomfort or dismiss them. At the same time, I really don't know how to find the balance between respecting myself as someone who is allowed to speak about their experiences and thoughts, and someone who respects others trying to do the same.

Proverbial rock and a hard place, I guess? Idk.

Oh, but yeah as far as motivation.

My screenwriting teacher (she was John Mictiernans script assistant, he did Die Hard and Predator), always emphasizes, even if you don't have it perfect, go ahead and get the shitty version out as a first draft. Just write it down basically as you described it to us here above. Even if it sucks. From there it can be refined.
This is what I started doing with my huge novella series. I figured since I had the time, I could do each one to completion before starting the next but it ended up not working out that way. I became obsessive and nitpicky, to the point that finally getting the very first one done left me drained and uninterested in continuing. I started hammering out the shitty version and being content with that for the time being. Got more done in three months than the last two years and I'm on pace to finish it before the year is over.

Yes but I've gotten a lot better about it in recent years. A big part of it was not speaking up when it matters most and letting things fester inside, so every little thing started getting under my skin. That led to a lot of destructive behavior.

I now make it a point to be heard when it's necessary and de-stress in healthy, positive ways, so I don't walk around pissed off and ready to snap. I'm much more able to let things roll off my back, if not outright ignore them.
