this should be a trend... ALL jrpgs need a speed up option by default.

They should also copy Bravely Default and let the player adjust the encounter rate. Would make FF 1-6 much better not having a battle every two steps.

It kind of makes sense to space them out a bit more. FF 4-6 are longer then 1-3 and a lot more popular.

you lose a percentage of your job levels every time you switch jobs so if you want to try a new job you need to grind its job levels up to make it useful then if you want to go back to your previous job you will have to grind job levels just to get it back to how strong it once was

Speaking of this, the Final Fantasy (1) version on Steam removed the Giant's Path, so no more of this. :(

So the pixel remasters were advertised as being as close to the originals as they can be, but then they just release a even easier version of the GBA port.

Played two games today. Finished Chrono Trigger and started Final Fantasy 6. CT easy as long as it's in the present or even the dark ages. A whole lot of nothing is going on in those towns. FF6 not likely with a insane demi god clown randomly throwing fire balls at towns for the lulz.

Same. But I've been putting a bit of a dent in my back log. Right now I'm working on games I started but never finished. I tell myself that this time I'm going to finish it and I do. I just started FF6 and I will beat it this time. Just hope I can stop being distracted by games I already beat many times like Chrono Trigger that I just beat again today.

In the NES/PS1 version thief/ninja sucks ass. In GBA and I assume the PSP version thief/ninja does comparable damage to a knight, then toss in the haste and temper spells that actually work. Hopefully it doesn't get nerfed to be closer to the original difficulty.

Unfortunately they can't be definitive versions since they reportedly lack bonus content in later releases and use the original balancing.

Still looking forward to them regardless.

The bonus content could of been done much better. FF1 it was just a long dungeon with trash mobs that give very little exp and the new gear requires RNG to spawn in the chest. FF2 soul of rebirth was good. FF3 was mostly a world wide game of hide and seek after mastering jobs. I can't remember anything about FF4 bonus content. FF5 the bonus dungeon was a pain in the ass. The random encounter rate makes the NES FF1 encounter rate look modest, the bosses were fun. The new jobs came way to late 3/4 of them come just before the final story dungeon and the last one requires you to beat one of the post game bosses. I haven't played FF6 bonus content yet.
