Diamond & Pearl had so many issues with the game running like molasses, so i got kinda impatient and just steamrolled Cynthia with Dialga and revives... which I'm sure will trigger some butthurt Cynthia fanboy that i used a box legendary to turn his perfect waifu (she's sooo tough) into an uneventful Tuesday afternoon. Granted, even w/o Dialga, i feel like she wouldn't have been that tough.

I should play Platinum someday, though.

I like both Super and Fusion, but for different reasons. Super wins in freedom of exploration, while Fusion wins in playing with fear a lot better and having a more engaging story.

Only thing i don't like about Prime Trilogy is the fact that you can completely remove it from the timeline and everything still makes sense (and the story is debatably better if you remove Prime Trilogy). Granted, Prime 1 is still pretty awesome, while the rest of the trilogy exists solely to reroute back to the original 2D game's story.

Although there were some great moments from Gen 3 that advanced the series, it was also kind of the beginning of the end in some ways.

Yes balanced gameplay makes these games boring, MW2 was a nice change of pace with varied playstyles. The only thing I would change is danger close to prevent noob tubing.

Danger Close does indeed power up the damage of tubes, but OMA is the true culprit here since you just keep switching to the same class over and over again for infinite tubes, which are already decently powerful by default.

I hope MW2R does launch exactly how it was back then so those people can realize that their nostalgic rose-tinted glasses were wrong and that the game was actually a dumpster fire. The only people who would keep playing after that phase would be the people who abused the OMA noobtubes to begin with, and those people are the kind of scum who should be quarantined away from the rest of the CoD community anyways.

Lol, that would be funny. Let's give them the true MW2 experience; the new seasonal content drops will now instead line up with the state of the game during its respective life cycle:

Season 0: Just like MW2 at launch
Season 1: javelin glitch patched
Season 2: akimbo model 1887 nerfed
Season 3: bling model 1887 nerfed

Of course, care package marker speed boost won't be fixed until a couple months in.

Friendly reminder that "overpowered" is not equal to "broken". OMA tubes are legitimately broken and would need to go if MW2 multiplayer happens. If it doesn't, the game's life cycle will basically be a quick spark of popularity from people who have been parroting "everything in MW2 is overpowered -- that's what makes it fun", to basically nothing as the majority of players get sick of getting spawn tubed and killed by infinite tubes from a guy with tac insert on the roof of High Rise.

A lot has changed in a decade.

Those things terrify me. Say what you will about Ganondorf's seven year reign, but he made Hyrule Field safer to travel (i guess there's poes, which are more unpleasant from a story perspective, but aren't very threatening from a gameplay perspective)

Same here, TC. I can beat normal, but i can't get through stage 3 on hard. Any tips for that boss you fight while you're stuck on the ladder? You have such limited mobility and its drill can really mess you up.

I think i remember the hallway you're talking about! It starts off with a couple elites fighting some flood, then a flood with a rocket launcher crashes the party.

One thing that does help a small bit is that flood with rocket launchers will never aim at your feet, they fire it parallel to the ground. This can be good in areas such as the long hallways of the Library or that long underground bridge on Two Betrayals, where you have room to strafe out of the way.

But it can be a pain in the ass if they ambush you in a small room...

Panic and me dying. IIRC, the 2nd generator room on Two Betrayals has flood with rocket launchers attack you as you flee. I love that canonically, Master Chief was shaken by that encounter.

Yeah, release order is best. I'd go with:

Metroid 1/ZM
Metroid 2/MSR
Super Metroid
Metroid Fusion

This is the main timeline order, which is also the release order if you play the originals (but substituting ZM and MSR in is totally fine, IMO).

After playing Fusion, then you could do Prime Trilogy. They technically take place between Metroid 1 and 2, but they can be completely removed from the main timeline and things still make sense.

Ranking Majora's Mask as a LoZ game, i don't care for it very much. It feels so isolated from the rest of the series and the time limit just isn't fun, IMO (even with inverted song of time, which does help a ton).

But if i rank it as a hella ambitious expansion pack for OoT, i tend to like it a lot more. Majora's Mask is an abysmal choice for a new player's first LoZ experience, but as a continuation of OoT, it's pretty awesome.
