Some of the late game kinesis pins are pretty okay IMO. If you get something big like a bus it can knock enemies around super easily. I never had a problem with drift tackle, but swift strike and shields are garbage yeah.

Finished the main game, still got the post game (Another Day + Secret Reports) to go through.

Was very happy with the ending and last few days overall. I have a few minor problems/questions with the plot but I imagine the secret reports will address some of that like they did in the original.

Overall while I think there are some things the original did better and some things Neo did better, the games are seriously straight up the same quality to me. I don't think I could put one over the other. Which is absolutely fine by me. More TWEWY is what I wanted and more TWEWY is what I got.

The DLC is really good.

I personally like StS a bit better because I'm not super into managing the 3 floors and multiple monsters, but Monster Train is still super fun and if someone is reading this that is a fan of StS and hasn't played Monster Train you definitely should check it out.

I'm getting near the end now and things are coming together really nicely.

Can't wait to finish.

Yes. The only super memorable OG track I haven't heard yet is Twister but they're obviously saving that for something near the end of the game.

I'm nearing the end of week 2, currently.

The only real criticism I have of the game is that the new main cast doesn't feel as compelling character development wise as the original main cast. They're not bad, overall, but they just feel like they have less going on with them.

This might change as I get toward the end of the game however, who knows.

Other than that the game is literally everything I wanted out of a TWEWY sequel.

If that actually is a problem its a really, really dumb one.

Mostly not, currently.

It does seem to be more contagious to vaccinated people than the original strains, which is slightly concerning, but even if I do get it I'm not worried about serious symptoms. The real issue I'm more concerned about is that it spreading out of control produces another variant that our current vaccines can't handle, which at the rate its upping infections is starting to look more likely as time goes on.

It's still not a huge concern yet... but that doesn't mean it isn't one.

I've tried getting into several others but end up dropping them out of disinterest. Princess Connect came the closest to keeping me hooked but the gameplay was too boring for me to want to keep playing it.

So far FGO is the only one that has the perfect mix of story and characters I care about + gameplay that is fun to play to me.

I'd count Mahjong Souls which I play from time to time if I played it on phone, but I don't, I play that on PC.

You guys are forgetting all the other stuff they set up in part 1.

They are going to make Yuffie and Vincent non-optional, and cover both a bunch more stuff with Wutai as well as not only Vincent's original game story but the Dirge of Cerberus Deepground stuff as well. And then if they bring Jessie back she will likely be at the Gold Saucer and we'll get more story for her and the rest of Avalanche. Then they are probably going to do more stuff with Zack, flesh out some of the more barren sections (I highly doubt we're just going to stop in at Kalm briefly and not get an entire chapter with sidequests etc there)...

Anyone that thinks Part 2 is going all the way to Temple of the Ancients and Aerith's death is actually delusional. There is NO WAY they can get that far without massively truncating what's going on or making the 2nd part like 80 hours long and keep the same amount of polish the original game had.

We're either getting to Junon or the Gold Saucer in Part 2, depending on how much they want to do.

Anything past that is ridiculous to assume.

EDIT: Not to mention they said they want to add some of the towns from Crisis Core in a previous interview.

Will be watching it in probably a week or two after the initial surge of packed theaters dies down a bit.

Not for any particular pandemic related reason, just because I hate packed theaters and would normally do that anyway unless other people drag me along to something.

AI: The Somnium Files is also very good.

Uchikoshi is a weird writer in some ways in that none of his games are ever 100% tightly written (there's always a few weird inconsistencies or unexplained elements when you stop and think about them) but the way he writes them and the things he DOES tie together well are usually sufficiently mind-blowing enough I forgive the things that aren't that.

If you think about it, it should be pretty obvious what route you have to pick now.

It's one you've done before after all.

Technically its suppose to be a different, divergent timeline, but it really has almost no connection to the main series besides using the demons/persona designs and some gameplay elements.

Elantris is fine. It's not perfect, and most of his stuff is better, but it was still an enjoyable read. The only Sanderson books that are actually bad are Towers of Midnight and A Memory of Light.

I mean I have some criticisms of A Memory of Light myself but I really feel like that's less to do with Sanderson and more to do with Jordan leaving 1,342 plot threads open and there being no way to close them ALL out satisfyingly in only 3 books.

As someone on reddit put it, Berserk was so long running and so influential in the manga and anime community there are series that are inspired by series that are inspired by Berserk.

The entire Souls franchise exists as it does because of Berserk, for instance.

I feel I'm likely to drop dagger toss from standard layout at some point to remove keyboard clutter.

You won't neglect the ice one forever because in ShB it becomes part of your rotation once you get a talent that makes it so that it turns into the best damaging ability when you Kassatsu.

Fuma used to be used when ninjutsu was OGCD so as not to clip rotations but ever since they changed it to be GCD its really only used in TenChiJin. I kinda feel like they should at least like, give Fuma longer range than Raiton so you can maybe use it during disengage sections or something idk. But as-is, it's pretty useless on its own.

It comes with all of the expansions but not the base game. You need to buy ARR.
You can use the same account but you need ARR on PC as well. You can't just buy Endwalker.

Dark Knight is my favorite tank to play but it is definitely the weakest currently.

I only play Nightmare on my NG+ runs. Normal/Hard is fine for me since the highlight of the series is the story and characters, not the gameplay.

Shouldn't have to suffer through boring and easy gameplay to get to those highlights when you can just fix that with a toggle called 'nightmare', at least to an extent.

And I disagree somewhat in general because I think Trails' JRPG gameplay is some of the best in the entire genre, just its not usually tuned very well.

Yeah don't worry about the Cold Steel spoilers from Azure, they're really not that big of a deal.

Also if you don't play Nightmare the rest of the series you'll likely just end up bored because the games are generally super easy for 95% of them from here on out!

Wait until you find one of the fabled 'ice mages'

All of them do, you get one very commonly once per day.

It's absolutely worth the return to just buy them, though, if you don't have gatherers leveled.

Also while it does say '8 players recommended' you can totally get by with 4-5. The mobs aren't hard as long as you have a tank and a healer, it will just take a bit longer to clear them.

HQ turn ins there can get you multiple levels depending on the item even

And again, don't just buy the items. Go get the mats and make them yourself. Even if you don't do it every day, it will add up.

Admittedly I haven't done it since I resubbed a couple weeks ago, this was back around 5.2/5.3. It definitely might be less on average now due to mat saturation.

But even passive chest gold you should get around 1-2 mil per that time period unless your party has catastrophic luck and people keep getting booted out on the 1st or 2nd door.

This right here already tells me you don't know anything about crafting!

You do not need money to level crafting unless you want to truly go about it the laziest and fastest way possible (saving up leves, buying the mats for the leves off the marketboard and turning them in)

Just do the crafting beast tribes and Ishgardian Restoration to level. It will be slower but will cost you practically nothing in terms of money.

You also can make money practically every step of the way as a crafter, especially if you level gathering at the same time. You do not need to be max level. Just look up the things people are buying on the market board (the above mentioned leve turn in materials are a good place to start!), then go out and gather and/or craft those things and put them up for sale.

People have been asking for harder 4 man content for forever and the devs just don't seem to want to do it for whatever reason.

If you don't want to do gathering or crafting (which are the best money makers in the game and its not even close, especially crafting), seriously, do maps.

It'll vary based on how lucky you are but I'd say on the low end (not good/middling luck) I come out of an hour of map runs with between 7-15 million gil more than I went in.

I've had runs where I get 30 or even 50 million with good drops, too, though.

And it fills you up on the capped tomestone currency so you don't have to do any/as many EXDRs and such.
