Even though it's easy to be offended in this societal climate... Race, religion, diet choices, political leanings, physical and mental disabilities, states of mind, and sexuality are all typically offensive subjects that... Well, most of these still see fairly common use in comedy today. If you can't laugh at yourself, comedy isn't for you.

I've been to stand up shows and I've even directly been made fun of in a few. If you find it that offensive, move on I guess. It's an intentionally offensive medium.

White people and black people do not exist equally in our society.

Straight people and gay people do not exist equally in our society.

Cis people and trans people do not exist equally in our society.

All of these groups exist in structured hierarchies which place certain groups on power over others.

Comedy can either support these power structures, or it can subvert them.

Making jokes at the expense of rich, straight, cisgender white dudes is not the same as making jokes at the expense of marginalized groups.

Stop pretending like you dont understand this.

this is a weird attempt at revisionist history. chappelle has pointed jokes at marginalized groups before this, in fact he made a career of it and has long been considered one of the greatest comedians of all time. sorry that your definition of what is acceptable in comedy isn't the standard but you will just have to get used to that.
