Hell even if food had a rare, low supply, it would be expensive too. That's how supply and demand works.

My proposal is exactly the opposite of what you said. I think the government should mandate items that are not essential for survival, not the ones that are essential like food and oil. For food and oil, that's completely understandable why supply and demand is a thing. When we're talking about essential items, I do agree with you guys. The government really can't dictate prices on essential items because there's a reason why the prices are the way they are, because of scarcity. If you have scarce items at a low price, that could be dangerous for the economy. But this isn't the case for nonessential items like rare games and collectables.

If I were the seller of course I'd rather make $1,000 off of it. But I would also understand why the US laws are in place (the ones I've come up with in this topic, I mean). Supply and demand is literally a basic part of humanity.

Farmer needs tools so he offers some of his harvest to Blacksmith. Blacksmith offers a tool for 10 pounds of Farmer's harvest. But Blacksmith's brother, who also makes tools, offers a tool for only 5 pounds of Farmer's harvest.

In this case, the tools and harvest are essential items, so I 100% support supply and demand in this situation. You need those things in order to survive, especially if that is your full-time job.

If the farmer was offered a $1000 game from the blacksmith just because it's "rare" or a "collectable", that is an absolute rip off. Owning a rare game is not an essential item. Just because a bunch of people want that piece of plastic, doesn't mean this should be worth more.

For essential items like oil and food, I understand why supply and demand is a thing, especially during the pandemic where prices are extremely high, because people need them and are willing to pay more for them.

But nonessential items that only have a price tag because of it being "RARE!!" is extremely stupid. Why does Flintstones Surprise at Dinosaur Peak for NES need to be $1,000? I don't care if there's only 900 copies of the game, there's no emergency reason to buy it, so the price should stay at $30, if even that. Rarity is nothing more than fake value.

It should be us regulated that only essential items can have price adjustments based on supply and demand. All other items that are not essential should absolutely be a fixed price.

imo both questions are on the same level, one is not worse than the other

she asked the question about the man's height because, if he didn't make the criteria, she most likely would have ghosted him. not complaining, you are allowed to date whoever you want, but that is the same type of question the guy asked. had she not met the weight criteria, he probably would have ghosted her too.

Don't think the person in the screenshot was offended by what she asked, I think he asked "how much do you weigh" to match the shallowness of her message. What he asked was not too different from what she asked. The man in the message is just giving the woman a taste of her own medicine. If she didn't like what guy asked, perhaps she should not have asked about his height. But maybe I should grab the popcorn, because people are going to disagree with me.

Dude this reminds me so much of something Im going through. I made a topic about this girl a couple years ago. She got out of a nasty relationship in 2018. Due to her and I talking a lot, I was the expected successor for her next boyfriend. However, when she told me she wasn't ready for a relationship yet, I was cool with it. I'm fine with waiting until she is ready, and again, I'm the expected successor so I didn't mind.

However, she betrayed her promise by dating this other guy. I was pissed. Not only was I expected to succeed her bad bf from 2018, but she didn't tell me about this other guy at all. Due to her being in a relationship, there was nothing I could do except wait until she is single again so I can fulfill the role I was promised.

Every few months I would text her seeing how she was doing, just to see if she was still dating that guy or not (also known as Date Camping). The first 3 months her and I would make small talk here and there, but after the 4th month she stopped responding. A few months after that, her boyfriend texted me to back off and leave her alone. Obviously I don't want a physical confrontation so I left it there, never contacted her or him again.

She broke my heart by saying she wasn't ready yet, and being ready for someone else even though I was supposed to be the successor. So I decided to wait out the relationship (Date Camping) until it ended so I could snoop in. Am I in the wrong here? Or was my strategy smart?

I'm in a bit of a conundrum boys.

I work as a doorman. We had an idiot drive a U-Haul truck in an area where the maximum clearance was too low, so the driver did damage to the ceiling. Even though the situation was not my fault or the other guards fault, we both had to brainstorm, let maintenance know what happened, record all the time stamps of when it happened, and write an incident report. It was a pain in the ass, but that's not the point.

When him and I were in the process of grabbing the time stamps from the recorded footage, I got up and needed to grab something from the drawer nearby. When he saw me get up, he lost his temper and started saying some offensive things, and had a really nasty tone with me. The fact that he thinks he can talk to me in that matter does not sit well with me, and ever since then, being around him makes me uncomfortable. I don't want to go into detail about exactly what he said, but he did say some offensive comments about me, things that would probably make your skin crawl. Why did he lose his temper? I think he was angry that I got up, because he thought I wasn't paying attention to him and the recorded footage (even though I was still giving him my undivided attention).

Here's the thing. If you've seen my previous topics, I've been fired many times for opening my mouth about things I disagree with. I don't want that to happen again, I'm actually trying to be good for once. But I don't just want to let this go, it's not okay for someone to treat me like that. And I don't feel comfortable being around him anymore.

For the record, I work with this guy 4 out of 5 days a week. Him and I literally sit next to each other. We're the only two guards on duty, I'm forced to work with him no matter what. This isn't one of those jobs where I can change my assigned seat or whatever, my seat is next to him.

Here's a few things I can do:

- Report him. I'm just going to go ahead and say this right now, I'm most likely not going with this option. As offensive as he was, he didn't say anything that would be grounds for accountability. Even if it were, I don't feel like getting them fired over something like this.

- Confront him. This one seems like a better option. Thinking about coming up to him and admitting to him that I did not like what he said to me. If I were to go with this option, I will most likely mention to him that I no longer feel comfortable with him, and we're not friends. We're not acquaintances either. I'm only here because I have to be. This might get my feelings off my chest, but the big flaw with this option is it doesn't do anything. Nothing happens by me doing this. It doesn't accomplish anything.

- Do nothing. I really don't like this option, because I feel like I'm allowing this person to walk all over me. I take pride and not allowing people to walk all over me, and that is why I've been fired from so many jobs. I say what's on my minds, and I'm not afraid to express my feelings about something, even if it's the CEO of the company. But maybe doing nothing is the best option. Again I've been fired so many times, maybe doing nothing is the way to go. And maybe the situation is not as big of a deal as I'm making it out to be, maybe I will get over this quickly. But right now, I don't want to go another 6 months, or a year, or two years or however long I will continue working here being uncomfortable and miserable the entire time because I'm with this guy.

What do you guys think I should do?
