Hint for you if you're not doing it already: have a few 0 cards in your deck (about three or so), and put them at the back of the deck. This way, when you see an enemy sleight coming up, you can press the button to skip to the deck reload and have easy access to your 0 cards. This will be more useful against later bosses so you can disrupt their more powerful attacks.

I learned something today, I thought those were all much further away! I still think Elden Ring will win though.

At first glance, there doesn't seem to be anything that dominates every category like The Last of Us 2 did last year, to the point they seemingly made up new categories tailor-made for it to win. Honestly, how did it win Best Director? The crunch and troubled production that game went through means that it shouldn't have even been considered for that category.

Guilty Gear Strive wins Fighting. I'll give Nickelodeon a chance of pulling the upset, but it seems that people are over the joke now that the game has been released.

Was Lady Dimitrescu really that good, or are people still memeing because she's tall and they want her to step on them? I haven't played Resident Evil Village, so I'm honestly asking.

Genshin Impact seems to be the obvious choice for Mobile, but I wonder if the controversy over the terrible anniversary might count against it.

Guardians of the Galaxy is streamer-friendly (there's an option that replaces the licensed music with copyright-free music), so that could win Accessibility.

Elden Ring wins Most Anticipated because it's sort of a new Dark Souls, and also I think it comes out soonest? God of War, Zelda and Starfield are all years away.

One thing to ask not Eternals-related: why has there been so much pushback to Steve travelling back in time to be with Peggy when there was previously negative reactions to Steve hooking up with her daughter Sharon? I guess the idea is that Steve has moved on since then, which would be lost on me since I haven't seen Winter Soldier and don't really remember Civil War.

I think the pushback isn't so much because people don't want Steve and Peggy together, but because the people who oppose it argue that it contradicts the established rules of time travel. I'd also argue that Steve getting together with Peggy's grand-niece when they haven't spent all that much time together would suggest that he hasn't moved on because in that scenario Sharon is merely a replacement Carter rather than a person in her own right.

That, or they ship Cap and Bucky instead.

We're in for one scary Thanksgiving this year!

Out of curiosity, I looked at the score for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and that is at 61%, 1 point higher than Eternals. After the dreadful reviews the first film got, who would have thought the sequel would score (barely) higher than an MCU film? I'm surprised because I thought the days of any MCU film scoring below the high 70s at a minimum were long gone.

Iron Giant is too big

I recall hearing somewhere that someone asked Kevin Feige if Bruce hit someone with the bench he threw in Endgame, and Feige jokingly answered that he hit Frank Castle with it. This got me thinking: was it an accident that Frank got hit by the bench (Punisher of all people getting anticlimactically KOed by a stone bench flying at him from miles away is funny), or does MCU Hulk have the comic trait of constantly calculating trajectories and angles from debris to minimise collateral damage, meaning that he threw the bench at Frank on purpose?

I always thought of Xigbar as the Revolver Ocelot of Kingdom Hearts, though more in the sense of being the minion who seems to know more than he's letting on, and has his own agenda. Then at the end of KH3, it turns out he was the mastermind behind everything.

If there's another villain song contest, I'll have to nominate It's Our House Now. I find that little pose Jafar does at the start of the song amusing, so here he is as a Stand User!

I didn't nominate her, but I'm disappointed that Aunt Fanny didn't make the cut. I'm guessing either dummy thicc booties aren't your thing, or it's because she gets overshadowed in her own film by Bigweld, whose entire body is an enormous booty with a head and arms.

I'm still wondering what the story will be other than 'Bowser kidnaps Peach and Mario tries to rescue her'.

Mario seems like a weird choice of Nintendo franchise to adapt into a film, partly because the plot is usually so basic. When Super Mario Galaxy tried to have a more ambitious plot, someone at Nintendo (Iwata I think, but please correct me if I'm wrong) flipped out and demanded it be removed, so the developers put Rosalina's backstory in a secret room instead.

The second reason this seems weird to me is that the tone of most Nintendo games, especially Mario, doesn't lend itself to the snarky humour that you tend to get in Hollywood movies. Nintendo's games are usually more earnest and sincere than that. Kid Icarus Uprising is the only one I can think of that would fit that tone while remaining true to the spirit of the game.

Finally, who will be the Minions stand-in? My money's on the Goombas.

I've now started Batman: Arkham Knight, and it's taking some getting used to so far because the controls have been switched around from the previous games. The big ones that keep tripping me up are 1. detective mode being on Up now instead of L1, 2. objectives and challenges having their own tabs on Left and Right and I can never remember which is which, and 3. I keep pressing R2 when I want to run, even though running is on X and R2 is crouch. That last one's particularly baffling to me because those controls haven't changed, so I don't why I keep making that mistake.

John K doesn't own the rights to Ren and Stimpy, but Nickelodeon let him have the rights to one of the other characters, George Liquor, when he was fired because the executives didn't like that character and wanted him written out of the show anyway.

It's funny to me that Patrick is a grappler in this game, and he even has a 360 input like Zangief on one of his attacks.

My biggest concern here is that there will be too much story to condense it all into a two hour film that people who haven't played the games will be able to follow.

I finished South Park: The Fractured but Whole yesterday. I got bored of the show around season 16 or so, came back for season 19, and got bored again in season 22, but I had so much fun with the game that's it's got me back in the mood to watch the show again.
