We were simply talking hypotheticals and you stated they had no villain going into the final movie. I start they have Kylo and the Knights of Ren and you get hung up on a romantic subplot that barely exists in the second movie and isnt even remotely a roadblock to turning Kylo into the big bad.

It also is completely puzzling because of the fact that TROS abandons, retcons and and isnt afraid to shit on both movies that came before it through the course of the whole film. So why this nothing hand holding means anything to you baffles me.

Uhits Kylo Ren. Its so painfully obvious. First he has the Knights of Ren that could have been a whole film but again, JJs own fucking ideas went absolutely nowhere when it came down to the end.

Second. Kylo kills and ovetakes his master. Hes now the reigning Sith Lord.

The Reylo shit youre referring to, again JJ takes whats a basic Yin, yang, dark light back and forth theyve had for two movies and forces them together as one of the worst love interests in movie history. TLJ didnt do that.

Other then Kylo, Finn is the only character in these films with an interesting story and character development to be had. I will concede that TLJ does dick all with him but TROS should have been his film. Hell the whole series should have been about rejecting the old and embracing the new. For good and for bad. The most interesting thing they could have done is flip the light and dark sides of Rey and Kylo by the end of TROS. Finn should have been the core of these movies, having already defected from the First Order.

Theres so many interesting things they could do but the final film shooting itself right in the face and refusing to do anything interesting with any of its characters or ideas. It was honestly one of the worst movies Ive ever seen and Im not kidding.

TROS is bad for a multitude of reasons but especially because it literally goes out of its way to shit on everything before it. Not just TLJ but TFA as well.

Theres a lot they could do.

Its not new for shows to be told in non sequential order. A simple subtitle that appeared that told you what year it was could have gone a long way.

Or edited it in such a way, structured the episodes to make the time period jumps more obvious.

Theres 4 different timelines told in a jumbled order and no clear distinction between any of them.

People fail to account for the fact that Snyder had the benefit of time and a failed first go.

If Snyder would have had his cut for the original release of the film it would have been a different flavour of dogshit.

Why shouldn't he receive criticism? It's his choice whether or not he pays attention to it, but unless he's being bullied or receiving death threats, what's the big deal?

Patton and Dave are entitled to decide what they want to believe, and who they associate with. Just the same as everyone else. No one, not one individual person or an angry internet mob gets to decide that. And Patton could have radically different options than Dave and still be a close friend. Thats fucking life.
