On beautiful 70mm too.

At the theater where Sharon Tate goes to see The Wrecking Crew in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood... which was the last masterpiece to be released in theaters. Makes sense for the first post-COVID(ish) masterpiece to be viewed there tbh.

Probably won't be this excited about seeing something in the theater until the next Scorsese which is a year out. Gotta cherish it.

No sharing

the list is skewed towards more popular movies which is why theres a bit of recency bias (IE the QT, PTA, Coen bros showing up so much) and some of the more widely seen older directors (Hitchcock) show up a lot.

And then its mostly safer entry level older movies. Also very surprised by the archers love tbh.

unsure of how to make ratings weighted bc im dumb so we will have to settle for this tbh

I know. I honestly though that, with the exception of Seven Samurai, the top ten was pretty weak. Still a good list, but most of it is old, black/white movies.

why wouldnt a list of the best movies ever largely be older movies? The feature length film has existed since at least 1912. Theres simply more of them and theyve already stood the test of time compared to more recent movies

as I said earlier we are really really splitting hairs with the exact rankings, but especially in the top ten, and especially in a small six slot window

Using a formula you've curated to ensure that most everything on the list is something you approve of.

It's the same thing with more steps

i think its probably a better formula than any other Ive seen such as Reddit/IMDb and possibly even they shoot pictures

maybe a bit of recency bias but oh well

Certainly has flaws but then again so do all of these things

LOTR is not. Unless you are counting the animated movie which might be called that. Cant remember. But also probably not the movie you are referring to.

Which Eternal allowed 9/11 to happen?

This is your periodic reminder that superhero movies are NOT cinema. At least not the current iteration we are currently receiving.

It is all capitalist and imperialist propaganda. Do not give into the House of Mouse.

Go watch, I dunno, something good this weekend. Or at least original. Last Night in Soho, Spencer, Titane, etc. Maybe see if a local film festival is happening. They usually pop up around this time.

Thanks for reading and make sure to answer the poll!

I dont even know what Crispix is but I havent had a bowl of cereal in years.

Honestly I just thought about it in the sense you have that frozen pizza and its done. That other stuff youre more likely to indulge in often. Gotta get a whole box of cereal, whole carton of ice cream, pack of ramen, etc. with the frozen pizza once its gone its gone.

That may be just me. I dont buy junk food because once I start I cant stop so I guess it just depends if you have self control. I dont. Thats why Im taking the pizza.

I also think the best dish for a chilly night is actually chili or beef stew.

ive never made ramen at home tbh. also you aint getting a nice wafer to hold ice cream in in frozen packaging dude. don't you ever go outside and get food from vendors or restaurants.
