From the soundtrack to Magic & Mayhem (1999), performed by afro celt sound system. The major sadness I have is that the current version I have of this doesn't have the original soundtrack intact, so it loses a huge amount of the ambiance in playing.

Yeah, Dionysus special buff was the one I wanted going in since Hangover is the only stacking, damaging debuff, but Ares offered an epic boon really early on that I couldn't say no to.

I've heard other people say this, but I think the only weapon I like less than the gun is the fists. The range on them is just so low. I know there's one aspect that gives you a baseline dodge chance though, so maybe that'll change.

I mean, you say that <_<

I get so distracted by his boon AoE that I miss him sticking his spear up my ass.

I meant Theseus is easy to dodge before he gets his boon, so kill asterius before bringing theseus to half

Everyone will tell you to kill the bull before Theseus, but in allll my best runs they died within <5 seconds of each other. Sometimes at the same time.

its good to just focus one while you learn their attack patterns, but leaving Theseus alone that long draws the fight way out, and you dont want to do that on higher heat

Theseus is very easy to dodge unless you're using extreme measures 3. Killing the minotaur first means you get more room to maneuver when frat boy goes super saiyan.

This is not about copy protection. It's about getting the perpetual royalties. You can hold up an audio recorder and record the audio, but that doesn't let you re-list that in the market and sell it as an NFT.You can be a boomer about new technology all you want, but this if the future of the music industry and more. Soon real estate will also be using NFTs. People will be able to buy a piece of real property as an NFT investment and collect a percentage of the profits every time the homeowner makes a mortgage payment. This is coming to real estate within the next 3-5 years.

You can't have one without the other. The issue with nfts is they only mark possession/ trail, not ownership. Likewise, there's nothing preventing an individual from de-linking the asset marked by an nft and transacting it without the token, or simply minting a new one without the previous contract.

Except in instances where the authenticity of something is a reason for its worth, most people don't care about who something is from or where profits go, they just want their product. It's why bootlegging and piracy exist. You can argue all you want about legality, but until you can enforce possession of a unique token to the use of media, and somehow pass that off as a benefit to the end user, this technology won't see adoption in the way you're envisioning.

Priority, if it exists, should be a property of frame data/hitboxes. Trading is a fine mechanic, especially when it results in double KOs. If you want a move to be "high priority" give it armor, or have it move the hurtbox back and give the front of the move a strike immune hurtbox.

Yeah honestly Mal wasn't a bad guy at heart. He just religiously zealously didn't understand nuance at all. Everything was either 100% right or 100% wrong

taking TC's example." Nazis are bad, the left is bad (to mal) therefore the nazis are left " is how his brain worked

Great demonstration of this was in a topic complaining about how all video game women are hot and insisting that more ugly and fat women need to be in games

Mal started arguing that games with sexy women sell better and people like looking at sexy characters . Pretty reasoned arguments.

Then someone pointed out that it was unrealistic, citing Lara Croft doing flips and big breasted warrior girls in bikini armors.

And instead of going "Yeah your right , that Is unrealistic but it's fun" or something, Mal went on a weird rant for 10 or so posts about how it is realistic and how all the best female athletes in the world are skinny hotties with huge tits.

Then he "proved " his claim that sexy women are the best fighters and acrobats by posting still images of busty girls doing push ups from Google

And then managed to lose an argument about making women in games fat and ugly on a male dominated video game website

The guy literally could not comprehend "Yeah you're right, that's a valid point. But my view is still stronger because...." he was incapable of it.

You get guys like Admiral and the users who defended and still defend him for years who are just legitimately terrible people

Then you get Mal who really isn't a terrible human being he is just atrociously awful at debating and critical thinking

You could have a causal chat with him about a non controversial subject and he was alright.

I feel a bit bad for him TBH. I think he was on the spectrum (Sincerely. Not an insult)
I didn't get that impression from him at all. I think @JKwaffle was around when we were playing DnD with mal. Honestly those were some good times.

If you redeem a steam key, you can't trade it sell it off, no? Well that's the point of issuing an NFT, so you can play the game, then sell off or trade your rights to someone else.

public class License{

public Guid ID {get;set;}
public Game ReferencedGame {get;set;}
public User CurrentOwner {get;set;}
public DateTimeOffset acquisitionDate {get;set;}
public bool Active {get;set;}
}

Throw together a method allowing resale, create a new GameLicenseLedger entry, modify the CurrentOwner, update the acquisitionDate, and Bob's your uncle. A license only works for a user if an active License contains that User as its CurrentOwner.

This is all really basic stuff, thrown together with an ORM for simplicity's sake, but c'mon, if you want to resell, you can do it without any issue if the digital host wants to let you.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with centralized data. We've been able to use GUIDs and PKs for data for a very long time, and there's virtually no need to put things like airline tickets or steam keys on a blockchain - those are on a central authority for a reason with API access. Again - blockchain is a solution looking for a problem. Eventual consistency is still a problem because there's nothing guaranteeing that the consuming client is able to validate/ensure it has an up to date ledger if you're attempting to decentralize your source of truth.

Non fungible token. But let me backtrack to the "fungible" word. When it comes to money, money is generally fungible. You don't discriminate between which 20 US dollar bills are in your pocket. You just use them as you need them. However, things like airplane tickets, immunization records or vaccination cards, trading cards, they need to be nonfungible. You have to discriminate between them to maintain their value.

Now the blockchain's key innovation is the successful creation of e-currency by creating digital assets, which is distinct from regular digital files because you can copypaste the digital file while a digital asset on a blockchain, when it's moved from wallet to wallet, it's no longer at the original wallet as the network verified and recorded the transaction. But here's an issue with the setup, you can't discern between the currencies. The network will tell you you accumulated 10 BTC over the past 5 years, but it can't discern between the first BTC you purchased and the 3rd one you were gifted from crazy Uncle Cyril.

Enter: NFTs.

While ERC-20 is the standard Ethereum came up with to allow other projects to monetize and crowdfund their projects (all those scam coins use that official format) using tokens, ERC-721 is the format Ethereum designed to accommodate the innate lack of fungibility in cryptocurrencies. This means we can finally recreate the uniqueness of trading cards, and expand to property rights and deeds and what have you. We can create a digital asset counterpart to represent anything. But what's limiting the market right now is data. Until chainlink or some other oracle network onboards more data the blockchain, they're stuck playing around with making tokens on art, mostly. Though there are cool applications like one project, Linkpool, released an NFT to all their ICO (initial coin offering) investors. About 1K persons bought into their crowdsale, now one NFT of those sold for over a million dollars worth of ETH.

TL;DR; NFTs are nonfungible digital assets, separate from cryptocurrencies and where you can discriminate between each NFT individually unlike a cryptocurrencies. They'll be used quite a bit in the future and you're seeing the pre mainstream adoption phase build up right now. Expect Game consoles to release trophies and achievements as NFTs when they integrate blockchain tech. GameFAQs would benefit from this because then they could have reviewers link their NFT compilations with their reviews to guarantee they played the game and didn't halfbake their run unlike half the gaming journalists at big name sites.

Most of the issues with fungibility you're referencing are due to bad API design and event sourcing - to use your example of gamerscore- it's 100% fine if the individual points of your gamerscore are fungible. All's you need is an endpoint to get info about the events which are associated with X game. Likewise, who cares about the existence of an airline ticket, what you care about is the history of transaction events associated with an individual ticket. There's a decent amount of issues with that, but I promise you that NFTs are a solution looking for a problem, and most of the problem spaces being proposed have no benefit from non-fungibility.

No ADAM/Dialog.
higher jump height
super metroid style item management, I'm not a huge fan of the button for missiles/grapple.
Less emphasis on EMMI. It's cool but feels more suited for resident evil than metroid, SA-X wasn't all that interesting imo.
rebindable controls.
Some of the damage values feel a little high in the later game, do suits give damage reduction?
