Probably the only anime character I'd like to see. He's not really a video game character but he would be a really great choice.

Goku always seems like a weird suggestion because I think even as far as anime characters go, he's probably not the most likely.

He has kind of a legendary status in America because he was the star of one of the "first" big anime here, but I don't think that's really the same in Japan. You'd probably see Luffy over Goku.

I feel like a lot of this is just trial and error though. Many people spent years calling Miles boring until he explodes in popularity recently. I think that's the case with a lot of comic characters, where they can spend years or even decades in irrelevance until a writer does something special with them.

Hell, you could even say thats true to a certain extent with the MCU stars. A lot of these characters weren't birthed as instant successes, and won't become one without a lot of effort. They're competing for attention in a very crowded marketplace, and it can take time to get them right.

That's usually how this goes. TC points out some apparent, surface-level inconsistency that might suggest that Covid precautions are ineffective and/or unnecessary, other people put in the barest minimum of effort that could be considered research and find that he's left out some crucial details that mean everything is actually working exactly according to the expectations of anyone that understands public health. He then proceeds to ignore everybody that acknowledges that in any way and only respond to statements that don't clearly prove him wrong when taken out of context.

It's at the point where I'm genuinely unsure if he's actually this clueless or if it's a clever ruse to trick other people into better substantiating their understanding of the situation. He seems bizarrely persistent for somebody who's genuinely so clueless (one would think being so consistently shut down so many times would discourage somebody from continuing), but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

The moderation team has been super lax on alt right shit for years now, though they did start to crack down a bit after Jan 6. It keeps the site busy, they don't want to gut their userbase.

I think the userbase itself is becoming more left wing (I remember a CE poll from years ago where the majority of voters "disapproved" of trans people) but I think there's also been an increase in super right wing posters rather than just a couple crazies, it's becoming more polarized as people get into q shit.
