Most people in my life have no idea that Im a neurotic mess whos always stuck in his own head all the time.

I feel like anytime I tell someone I struggle with anxiety/depression, theyre almost always very surprised. You dont seem like that type of person is something I hear often.

Maisel is the only decent one on that list, and even then, the third season was way worse.

RIght on, that's not a bad time at all. Keep up the good work, and congrats on the progress so far. Running is one of those things you start off hating until it starts to click and you get better at it. Eventually you are gonna push yourself to run further than planned, just to see how far you can go.

have always liked running, but just got lazy. Its been a love hate relationship. Have only recently learned in the last year how much better it makes me feel running a few times a week though.

7:42 mile time. Didnt realize Id be able to run that fast and sustain it. Pretty great feeling, especially considering a year ago I could barely run a mile. Think my Nike time on Jan. 2, 2021 was like 11:15.

Results feel fuckin good. Next goal is to get a 5k under 26 minutes. Being tall and having long legs definitely it a bit easier to get a big stride tho.

My fianc is a lawyer and it's brutal. The California bar makes everyone watch these training videos every year. This year's videos went over how young lawyers frequently thought about suicide and had severe drinking problems due to stress of the job. Then there was a line that said something along the lines of "the lack of willingness of the industry to change is the cause of this" which definitely drove it home. She worked 14 hours on Monday. She has to bill more than her billing goals because there's a dedicated person at the company that strips hours you worked away from you to make sure no one bills too much.

The pay isn't even that great unless you work for a big firm. She makes less than I do and I have a bachelor's in environmental science.

hmm, interesting. I mean, the stress and horrible working conditions are pretty normal in my current job teaching but the pay is garbage. I could handle stress well if Im actually making some good money.

Your GPA matters A LOT. Your major not so much.

The LSAT is pain and you really need to be committed to shoot for the score you want. Basically, your GPA and LSAT numbers are the two most important numbers. Your personal statement, resume, and other related work are your "secondary" traits.

I also work in public interest law, so we deal with a lot of underrepresented groups. Since you want to do the same, the schools that provide this sort of field are easier to get into.

Considering a career change, and Im a bit curious about law school and being a lawyer. Am currently a teacher and have a bachelors degree.

I know you have to take the LSAT to get into law school, but how much does your undergrad GPA/major actually matter? I like the idea of representing people who really need legal help, even if the pay is fairly low to be like a state appointed attorney. I just wanna make a difference any way I can.

Right?? I taught elementary in public schools for 8 years and got run into the ground. My mind was melting and by body was failing.

I snapped. Had a convo with the custodians at my school, found out how much they made, and my mind was made up. I'm now a head custodian in the same school district making 45k. Which is actually more than I made teaching when factoring all the supplies I was forced to buy.

It was supposed to be temporary but I'm comfy and don't know where to go from here.

thats wild! Yeah teaching is a horrible profession in the US. Its a hot mess thats failing students left and right, because our government refuses to support teachers and value the profession like in other countries.

Tbf, he said "underpaid," not "low paid." I think the difference matters here.

In CA most high school teachers start around 60k, which I definitely wouldn't call low pay, but it's 100% underpaid for the work they do.

60k is nothing in California because of the cost of living there.
