Most recent example was in 2019 when I had two kinda interns (I wasn't their official supervisor but I was the one who gave them shit to do and who they came to for help) who were juniors in college. So I was a full 10 years older than them. They were assigned to a project spanning a couple divisions at work which obviously included people I didn't directly work with. So the first week when I brought them to a manager in the other group for an overview of the project, he started talking to me like I was one of the interns and thought the intern with a beard was the one who worked there.

When I grow my patchy beard that's an abomination, I get mistaken for a Muslim and have had random arabic phrases said to me before I tell people I don't know what they're saying

In the past year and a half alone I've purchased two computer monitors and dual monitor arms with credit card reward points along with supplementing a handful of other purchases.

But on the other hand, I also experienced the nightmare of spending money you don't have thanks to depression during grad school. I never paid a dime for undergrad or grad school but when I finished up in late 2015 I had 10k credit card debt, 1k added at the end due to moving costs. Most recently that was 4k cc debt January 2020 after originally being debt free the previous year and then dumping money into a down payment literally the next month and having a nonrefundable trip to Asia already on my plate. Interest payments suck ass because I'm pretty sure I paid over double what I owed over those 5 years.

Debt free May 2020 and now that money isn't going towards interest payments I have enough saved up where I could turn into a NEET and survive 4 or 5 years. So yeah just don't be dumb with money or ever get the big sad and you're golden. I use my credit cards for purchases I used to use my debit card for, pay them in full at the end of the month, and reward points go brrrrrrr

And for post #80, I have 2 credit cards, 3 if Home Depot counts even though I only put a purchase on it like 3x a year. The card with no annual fee is the one I use most for reward points. For hotel and airline reservations I use the one with an annual fee because they are like a guardian angel for those kinds of charges

Neighbor kinda adopted a stray cat that popped up just over a month ago where she leaves a crate for it by her front door. That cat was terrified of me up until a couple weeks ago but it was a friendly cat and when I squatted down it got close enough to me to let me pet it but the rest of my body had to be still as a statue or it would get scared

Fast forward to today and now it knows that I'm a meal ticket because I feed it food that Mochachino doesn't like (which is a lot of food, Mocha is picky as fuck) and now it rubs all over me whenever I'm outside. I wash my hands as soon as I get inside though just so Mocha doesn't smell another cat on me lol

I was two performance points out of 100 from having an extra 2k added to my raise, turn down leadership offers because I don't feel like doing it, my only debt is my mortgage, and I don't like shit and don't go inside so that's why I don't have a big assed gf right now. 2012 Camaro and fortunately no password security questions are tied to that lol

Looking to get a Lexus SUV either in 2022 or 2023 and drive it into the ground because a Camaro with no driver assistance technology outside of a backup camera isn't ideal for narrow as fuck and shitily maintained metro DC roads. I feel every single bump on the road. Plus cabin space is starting to be a hindrance now that I'm not living the college life anymore and on top of more space, better tech, and better visibility the Lexus has 8 more combined MPG which for a same size tank is roughly a week's worth of gas for commuting to work. I still plan to keep the Camaro as my fun car though.
