Has Cinder been that aggressive to wildlife before? Did the four new ones observe his... demonstration?

They've all tried to catch them previously. He also actually caught another, they seem to be not fully grown. Mama stole them and ate em, because he just kept flailing the corpses around.

Also let this list be a warning to those that want to simply be nice. All this mess effectively started because I was being nice to Mystic when he'd pass through for about 2.5 years, during which he was simply 'that big black tom'. A neighbor was feeding the mother cat similiarly for years, then kinda stopped. This caused her to come here, and proceeded to unleash 2 litters in a 5 month span. She and her previous offspring have spread throughout the land, creating other colonies.

I should also note. I mentioned Furrball was a feral kitten we socialized in the past, she actually came from the same house/area the current mother was previously being fed. She's unrelated, though there is a tiny tiny chance one of her relatives survived to pass on the lineage/return and they actually are.

I'd disown him right then and there, then I'd find a khajiit to start over.

Yeah it's a bit chaos, so I'll break it down a bit.

-Inside/Claimed
Furrball - 19.5 yrs old
Cinder - Black with a white spot on his throat. He goes in/out so he can bully his siblings or fart on my bed.

-Outside/Community
Sadie - Cinder's littermate, smollest.
Sofie - Cinder's littermate, big fluffy one that's now bigger than her mother.
Sunnie - Cinder's littermate, face is split orange/grey right down the middle, most feral of the litter.
(These 3 are the tortoise/jumbled like orange/grey tabbies that are often clumped together such at that image, they're ear tipped and friendly to 1-2 people, but still a bit too wild to be proper pets)
Mystic - Large black long hair, former dominant tom of the area, but still chases off unfamiliar cats.

-Fate pending
Mama - No official name, not spayed yet due to being trap/carrier evasive. However she seems to really trust me and someone else.
4x new kittens - 2 black, 2 grey tabby. These are currently being socialized as they're roughly 4-5 weeks atm. Some will be adopted out, rest will most likely go to shelter.

That's 11 cats in total...

In other news, Cinder caught and killed a squirrel, then proceeded to just flop and flail its corpse around for about 3-4 hours as some sort of warning message to all the squirrels that tease them.

I know mine had it... right next to the original office/reception. Funny thing is they had a school phone for free only 8 or so feet across the hall.

The reason being that the school phone was only for calling your parents/guardians for emergencies, everyone else gets to use the payphone. I recall someone once ordered pizza on it and it caused a commotion. The pizza was actually delivered, and lessons were learned.

Fair enough but just one touch can mess up the sent.

From what I can gather it should be fine, as the critical range is the first 2 weeks where you shouldn't handle them. Seeing as they're older than that and are big enough to run around rubbing up against the 4x 6 month olds, it should be ok. So long as momma doesn't mind.

I am very mindful not to get Furrball's scent on them, which is why I escorted the one out of the house. It might help that I've essentially spent the last 5 months integrating into their pride being rubbed on by 5 cats.

In other news, Mystic is more than twice the size of the 6 month olds and a former tom that'd get into fights that'd lead to bloody abscessed wounds. It's amusing to see him now regressed into literally playing with the others like a giant kitten, even trying to pounce and play, but due to his size he startles them. He's trying though.

I guess that's better than him trying to mate with Sadie and Sunnie when they were only 10 weeks.

Yeah, I know. I only did the slightest of touches and only after I had pet the mother. The mother watches and after taking care of her previous litter which is still here, she seems to be trusting. I'm not grabbing them or rubbing them on me as I don't want to mess up the scent. Though one of them did climb up and come into the back door so I had to do a brief scoop and move before it got too far inside.

One of the grey tabbies is very brave and curious.

For the record they're about 4-5 weeks old. She relocated them over here when they were only 1-1.5 weeks old (they were inside the engine bay of an old truck). Didn't get to actually see them until that one I posted about the envoy coming out about a week ago, though we could hear them.

Somewhat, and when they see something big move, such as an arm, they hover glide sideways and away.

Cinder occasionally swats em with a paw and hisses. So the one backed off from him and against Sunnie. I leaned in toward the scared little thing and rubbed its head, it looked so adorable closing its eyes and pressing into my fingers. I'm curious to see how the black ones turn out, as one has dark grey sections and the other is very Cinder-esque without the white spot.

It's possible these are Mystic's final offspring, unless it was this black tom that sneaks through.

Here's all 4 of the fluff nuggets. I wasn't aware at the time they'd eat solid food until one of the tabbies climbed 3 stairs and was eating dry food that was for the others. So I got some wet/softer food and all of them came to eat. The mother didn't seem to mind me delicately petting them or crouched next to them. One even came and investigated me.

They're so soft and small I feel like I'm going to break them from the slightest petting.

It conked out infront of me, after being investigated by Cinder. You can see Cinder's leg/tail on the left. Then it sat up, looked at me, and fell asleep again.

VoI was a plane, and the thing is the board didn't find out until a few years later iirc.

Teak still bothers me... because like someone else, I was busy/occupied by something at the time and he sent me a message on AIM just shortly before.

Yes, I forget what year, maybe 2015 or 2016, but it was a very sudden health issue that his wife/gf didn't disclose to us. It was sudden in the sense that he was fine/normal the one day, then died the next.

iirc RI was to direct the mindless drivel from CE, so that you wouldn't have oddball roleplay and social topics or flower field flolicking amidst real world shootings or politics.

As for Canti. He basically had a billion alts, got into arguements with others, was relentless/annoying to some and this was before you could ignore/block. I don't know if anyone remembers my post in that one AI art topic, but that quote "Do animals have woman holes or does the action go down in the rear?" was a legit topic/question of his.

It went on for probably 4-6 years at least, and drove a lot away. I know I'm guilty in contributing to RI drama before someone points a finger, but those 4-5 months pale in comparison.

A PROP GUN can still be a REAL GUN and I guarantee you this has been explained to Alec multiple times on sets over his career. Many prop guns need to be able to cycle and chamber rounds just like regular guns. You're not going to CGI the gun ejecting cartidges. Only a subset of prop guns are going to be what we call "deactivated", meaning unable to fire, and their only use is for your goons to stand around holding or pointing in people's faces.

Treat all guns like loaded guns until PROVEN otherwise. I don't know how many times those words need to be beat into people's head. This was absolutely inexcusable. Both Baldwin's and the Prop department's are at fault for this woman's death.

Yeah, pretty much what I was trying to say, but see some still can't differentiate the two. It can be fully functioning or rendered safe, but once it's on set of a theater or film it effectively becomes 'a prop'. Sometimes it's a deadly prop.

My guess, based on them saying it was a rehearsal, was that they were trying to find a great camera angle and see how it looked. Probably to fire or cock the gun towards the camera and thus fired it at the two behind the camera or whatever they were doing. That, at least could be understandable.

It still comes down to negligence on the prop department or gun master. Or it could be someone who sabotaged it by slipping live rounds on set.

It's simply a real gun, being used as a prop for a set. That's how a prop is fully functional. It could be anything, such as a working tv or microwave. In this case it's a gun, nothing super out of the norm given the setting.

That said, that's some irresponsible as hell behavior. The gun should have been disabled internally or never allowed near live rounds. Someone massively screwed up. This kind of crap is why they use CG in newer movies, as the guns themselves are actually rendered non-functioning, so not even a blank works.

When i was a kid my friends brother got him addicted to everquest and he had me play it. I created a wizard i think and had to run to their starting hub. I vaguely remember it being boobie trapped and i kept falling into a pit.

We were dying laughing because i died in a spot where i couldnt get back to my body and just kept falling into the pit over and over lol.

I remember the wood elf starting zone/city. I have no idea how many times I fell to my death and then there was the confusing elevators. I don't recall anywhere else as bad as that as a hub/city in other games, at least not as a starting zone.

That said, I never got heavily into most mmos, now Eve Online... ugh, as much as I wish I did something else with my life for those 5 years, being part of IAC during 06-08 and being right there during the first great war and all that shenanigans. I cherish those experiences. Even things like spending 5 hours guarding a mothership because an alliance member got drunk and fell asleep with a Wyvern on an outpost.

Finally, I can stop taking a shower and wiping myself.

Took Cinder to the vet for some shots and whatnot, nothing major just vaccination stuff. However, they had another cat in the back at the same time, so some of the staff chuckled about it.

It's exhausting, and mostly just have to keep note of certain things over time.

That said, these newer ones pretty much have to go, or at least find another home. It's become tough dealing with 7, so 11 will become unsustainable. As it currently sits Furrball barely eats and Mystic migrates from 2-3 houses still. The other 5 are ravenous beasts.
We're also unsure if the other feral/community cats in the area are actually being dealt with in terms of spay/neuter/rabies. Already had to tend to Sadie for a bit as she had something going on with her eye and my fear was it was infected in a way that'd cause us to have a bunch of blind cats. Seems to have just been some debris/dirt and she's fine.

No cigarette, that's an old fishing rod. Though is kinda funny looking now that I see it.

One or more of them might actually get a home already, though obviously it'll be when they're old enough to be seperated. They're only just now big enough to wander a few feet from their sleeping area.

They're aproximately the size of a standard soda can, maybe slightly larger due to fluff/head. The bigger kittens that are now 6 months, are so confused by them. Sofie's hissed at them, because they're an obvious threat. Cinder and Sadie just stare at them like it's an atrocity. Sunnie doesn't seem to care.

They've finally sent out an envoy to negotiate.



There's 4 of them, 2 tabbies like that and 2 black of some sort. Shortly after this one of the black ones wandered out and froze. I equally froze unsure wtf I was actually looking at due to it seriously looking like a giant dust bunny. They're so damn small and fluffy, using all their concentration to walk. They're still under 4 weeks.

My co-worker's daughter didn't have to take the driving test because of Covid, they just gave her the license after passing the written portion. That was shocking to me, my memory of the written test was that it was almost impossible to fail.

Pretty much. I think I messed up on one question because it was worded in a weird way and I over thought it. The driving portion I literally drove out and around the block, the only challenge was I had to stop for a school bus and the instructor got onto me for not making contact with the parking chock. For one, I didn't realize those concrete things crossing the space were chocks at the time.

I kid you not, the night I got into my first (and currently only) accident after 12+ years of driving I was thinking "ya know, it's interesting how we're all commanding thousands of pounds of metal and material at velocity, only a few feet apart and expected to avoid each other based on some paint on the ground and general decency.". About an hour later someone took a left from a red light and clipped me on the left while I was doing 45. 1 second difference I'd miss them or have a head on.

It's fairly rational, seeing as they don't do proper testing anymore and there should totally be some sort of 'it's been 20 years, time for a refresher' or something.

I kid you not, for a period of time around here they've had it so a parent can just give a note that says their kid did x amount of practice and completely bypass either the written or driving portion for a driver's license. Add in the fact that cars have so many assists such as 'keep in your own damn lane' it's gonna result in good times. I mean, me and both of my parents have been involved in accidents in a 2 year span and neither of them were our fault. One of them didn't even have insurance and barely got a slap on the wrist.

So yeah, I totally understand the concern.

Speaking off, this lil lady is chilling on the fence outside still.

That leaf is aprox 2.5 inches in length. She's grown slightly since that was taken and the web spans several feet. That's why having 1 every 5-10 feet everywhere had to be mitigated.

I've seen the new nuggets under the house. There's confirmed 3, possibly 4, but I can't tell if it's just a shadow. The ones I saw were 2 black and 1 dark charcoal grey.

Look, I know I said I really like black cats in the past, but this is ridiculous. Mystic, Cinder, and now these 2 or 3. D:

They're just now starting to wiggle/hobble as I can hear them squeak meow and brush against things.

Anyways, the other 4 are baaad and have a fascination with playing in the road and 2 have almost gotten ran over before my eyes.

tbh that lil notice scared the hell out of me, because it's a red x and seperate notice under windows update. I had an old machine where windows update corrupted and was basically trying to kill the OS. It'd get stuck in 50-80% cpu usage trying to get an update it for some reason couldn't get. Then again it was Vista, so it makes sense that it was trying to kill itself.

I almost forgot.

It's difficult to get a view of his spot, but it helps if he's conked out.
