If we gain the ability to regrow limbs would you say that a child born without a leg should stay without a leg until they are old enough to make an informed medical decision? Any cure that can be implemented should be as soon as possible, hopefully before the child has to grow up with a developmental disability.

I do not believe that you are correct about it being very rare. It is a rather significant portion of people with autism. I also think that your concerns are based on an inability to look beyond your own current situation. Children who can have their autism cured should, just like children who have other developmental disorders or mental disorders or birth defects should. People like yourself who are already adults and capable of making informed medical decisions should be free to accept or reject it, but you should not be immune from judgement for choosing to remain a burden on society.

Do you acknowledge that there are many autistic people who are not capable of giving informed consent regarding medical issues, yes or no?

Also if you live off of disability and do nothing to contribute then you, factually, are a burden on society. That doesnt mean that you shouldnt be taken care of but it is the reality of the situation and it would be better if you were not.

Because the phone I was using stopped taking a charge right before the trip, I knew Id be able to get one working after I arrived, and I dont doubt my ability to get places or handle an emergency situation in less than ideal circumstances if one had come up.
