It still continues to some degree. See: Stores Libby Lu Claire's Stuff Barbie products the infamous Bic for Her pen set Littlest Pet Shop toys Lego Friends has purple packaging specifically in an attempt to make Legos appeal to girls etc. --- Are you watching closely? |

I like anime, but Ghibli/Miyazaki never really grabbed me like it did with many other fans of the medium.
