It's more funny you don't know what a boomer actually is. This boomer "joke" (if we can even call it that) has spread through ignorance of what a boomer actually is.

Some tried to get deep with it, but ultimately the joke ignorantly boiled down to "anything older than me is a boomer." With individuals legit thinking that's what a boomer is.

Im kind of mixed on modern starters. They look fine on their own but I dont really like how humanized a lot of them are. I miss the days when we just had cool looking monsters rather than trying to make a Pokmon out of a profession. I feel like they are leaning too far into their inspiration these days instead of just loosely referencing them as a concept.
