I generally keep the main character in the party most if not all of the time, then swap in whoever has the lowest level, depending on how many party members there are. Though for boss fights whoever has the most connection to a boss gets in the party, like say Yusuke against Madarame. --- It's tempting to linger in this moment, while every possibility still exists.
