I played a little bit today. Lots of people having performance issues, but surprisingly I'm not encountering anything too bad. I managed to tweak the settings so that the framerate in battle is pretty smooth. The campaign map is definitely more demanding, but it's been a pretty consistent 40 FPS, and that seems manageable so far.

And the only reliable way to get rid of them - Adept-level AoE or Cloak Destruction spells - is just plain overkill.
I was going to add that they also removed Water Walking, but apparently they did add a single item with Water Walking in Dragonborn. But that's literally the only source of Water Walking in Skyrim apparently.

If Chaos Dwarfs were in the game at launch, I think they would have been my immediate choice to play as. I wonder what will come after them though. I like the idea of Dogs of War because mercenaries as a mechanic is something I'd like in this series. They've been trending in that direction with the Ogre Mercs in Warhammer 2 and now the Outpost system in this game.

I liked it and I never thought it made much sense that it failed so badly. Yeah I know calling it the Wii U was a terrible idea. The marketing wasn't good. As far as the console itself though, it has a terrible primary controller. That's the only problem. Like if you compare it to the Switch, other than the Switch being newer and actually getting the handheld part right, it doesn't really do a whole lot more than the Wii U did.

If I was locked out of playing any video games forever except the TWW series, I would still have enough gaming for like the next decade before I have to repeat anything

There's just so much replayability and every race plays completely differently, like playing starcraft or some other similar rts where there are significant differences
Plus mods will add even more replayability. They're also a good means of addressing bugs that CA will simply never get around to or altering/reversing questionable design decisions.

I don't know if that's an accurate comparison really. The series absolutely does have far too much DLC. The thing is that almost all of it is high quality. For the majority of people I would just recommend getting the games when they're on sale and buying only the DLCs that interest you.

The Ravager? On its own, it's not a good gun. But it does a very nice job of stripping shields, so it still has a place in the game in my opinion. Every other gun is fine for the most part with the exception of the Plasma Pistol. It lost its ability to EMP vehicles and its homing isn't good enough to justify using it for its other purpose of stripping shields.

You know there was something I questioned about Boba's motivations in this show. It seemed like he was pissed off that he nearly died in service to Jabba. But shouldn't he be blaming himself for that and not necessarily Jabba? Did he really have any obligation to stay around after delivering Solo to him before ROTJ? He even says to Fennec something along the lines of he doesn't want bounty hunters to get killed after being caught up in the plots of bad employers. But his relationship with Jabba seems like one he brought upon himself.

Yup this is my take as well. There are a million things you can nitpick about the show. But I'm not going into it looking for things to criticize. It felt very Star Wars. A lot of it is dumb, but it was certainly entertaining.

Anyway, I think Cad Bane making an appearance in the Kenobi show is way more likely now. He's got a rivalry with him too, and this way they can continue making use of the live action version.

I guess if they wanted to pull a surprise move and kill someone off, Fennec or Boba make the most sense. Cad Bane is a villain they could potentially slot in to any series that's set in this era, though I don't know what they actually have planned other than the Ahsoka show. And Krrsantan is a still a new character to most viewers, so it wouldn't have the same impact if they offed him.

I don't think they have the balls to kill off any of them. I could see Danny Trejo's character dying. And some of the Mods. And the Mayor's majordomo. And we know a ton of Pyke goons are gonna die. But I doubt anyone else will.

And it doesn't really make sense for them to ditch the Naboo starfighter a few episodes after it's made. Grogu has a seat in there already. And I don't think he's going to be doing much bounty hunting next season.

I should maybe watch those animated shows to understand why people get excited lol.

So at this point, I'm assuming spice is some kind of drug, right? Because until Cobb tipped the chest over, I genuinely those these were just really aggressive seasoning salesmen.

Oh, and as someone who doesn't know shit about Star Wars, I find it really fucking bizarre that Ahsoka and Luke are both continuing the "no earthly attachments" teachings. I always figured the idea presented in the prequels was that the Jedi were fucked up for doing that and it ultimately led to their downfall because they forbid Anakin from having personal attachments, meaning his mom gets murdered by Tuskens, Padme dies from big sad, and his kids are stillborn. That all ultimately ends up with him joining Palpatine and doing the Order 66 thing. Then the OT even has Luke and Vader win the day because their attachment to each other ultimately ends up defeating the Emperor. But now they're just...doing that again? That's dumb as fuck.
I think ideally the Jedi have to find some healthy balance between having attachments but not letting those attachments drive you toward the dark side. Ahsoka seems to be one of the few who have been able to strike that balance. Probably Obi-Wan as well. Grogu is kind of an unknown factor and he's had a pretty unorthodox childhood up until now. Ahsoka probably just doesn't want to take any risks after both the Jedi Order and Anakin let her down. As for Luke, I'll chock it up to him still being very new to the job. I mean we obviously know because of the sequels that Luke does ultimately fail.

Anyway, cool to see Cad Bane. I saw someone say he reminded them of the Mouth of Sauron and I definitely got that vibe as well.

Just like the transition from Halo 4 to 5, they didn't really continue off of the prior game's story at all. There's a lot I liked about it, but because they initially screwed up so badly going from 4 to 5, it just comes off as a mess. I thought the reception for it has been overall very positive though. The gameplay is certainly great. No complaints there.

As far as multiplayer is concerned, they really shit the bed there. So maybe the complaints you saw were directed more toward that.
