Calling it "completely" free is more than optimistic; unless I'm missing something, players have to pay for their console/pc gaming rig, tv/monitors, and broadband internet service in most instances. Attempting to play without accessories/optionals, such as Xbox Live or Game Pass subscription, headsets, controllers, gaming chairs, sound bars, etc. also makes for a less than ideal experience. That's not even factoring in the bullshit micro-transactions that have been shoehorned into gaming over the last 15 years... Nothing in life is ever really free; if someones tells you it is, you can bet they have a vested interest in having you believe it, and will likely try to exploit you because of it. |

Progression and playlists are overall something that will be fixed and improved on as they find the right balance. That's the problem with this modern live-service entertainment model; games used to release as completed products, fully intact. They were held to a higher standard; they had to get it right, otherwise studios and entire companies would go under, and they did. Only in rare cases such as re-releases would games ever get patches or improvements. The current system sucks. |

With Game Freak's current management, I see no signs whatsoever of that trend ending anytime soon. The soul of Pokemon really did die with Iwata, unfortunately. |
