If you're willing to shell out that much money for cars you don't need, how much money do you have for other things? Are people supposed to take such poor care of their vehicles that they don't last past ten years? etc

Haha, no, I'm jabbed. Nice assumption there.

But I'm still having to deal with things like business closings, travel restrictions, curfews, and other fun stuff that don't care if you're vaccinated or not. I also have medical conditions, and there's a real fear of mine that if I end up needing hospitalization for any of it, I'm going to be put on a backburner because of covidiots flooding the place.

It's been two years of all this, and I'm tired of it. I'm especially tired of being expected to care about people that clearly don't care about anyone else.

Also, just so we're clear, thinking people who decide to forego professional medical advice of getting the vaccine should have to live with their choice instead of clogging up the healthcare system =/= thinking they should get the "death penalty", as you keep putting it. This is not a death penalty; nobody's executing these people. They're dying of their own poor choices.

It really isn't. The only reason you think it is is because you're setting up a false equivalence.

I appreciate Covid is a fairly unique situation so should sit outside the norm but it does potentially open up the doors to conversations about denying hospital care for other people where there injuries are deemed "self inflicted".

Have to go to hospital because you are obese? Too bad you should lose weight. Have to go to hospital because you broke you leg skiing? Too bad you should have done something less dangerous! Self harm? Alcoholism? Drug addicts? Where will people draw the line?

Nah, it really doesn't. When these fat/skier/whatever people are hitting up the hospitals in such droves that they literally can't take them all in (or can only do so by turning others away), then we'll entertain this "conversation". Until then, this is just a pointless slippery slope argument.

At this point, yeah, I'm inclined to agree.

Considering there's people who aren't into sex, it stands to reason that at least some would be "handsome" and atheist.

I think "who's green?" is a perfectly reasonable thing to ask if up until that point you'd only seen messages in blue. It'd make me want to know why.

It is subjective and you might be one of the people who do think animals are worth more or are equal to humans. If so Im not going to try and change your mind. Ive had pets and cried when they passed more than when some humans I know have died.

And yeah sure people will probably be more willing to euthanise animals than humans for various reasons. Dont doubt that. But I think the option should be there in specific cases. We already have end of life pathways for cancer patients at the very least this should be expanded to other terminal illnesses.

Nah, I'm not, but I do know my fair share of people for whom that would be true.

I imagine if human euthanasia were allowed in the US people would use it.

I think even if it were "allowed" there'd still be way more people hesitant to euthanize a human compared to an animal/pet.

Putting aside covid, I don't understand how loved ones can look at someone that can get to a condition like this where they're basically a vegetable that can't move or do anything and then do everything to keep them alive even as they're suffering. My grandma had declining health the last few years of her life but towards the end after she had suffered another stroke she was basically a shell of a person. She couldn't remember anything and needed people watching her 24 hours a day to feed and bathe her. Even during that time a few of my uncles and aunts wanted to do everything they could to prolong her life by giving her different painkillers and medicines even though she was clearly suffering from so much pain. It just seems selfish to me to keep them alive if they're gonna be hooked up to several machines or needing a cocktail of drugs just to make them comfortable.

Somewhat of an aside, but I've always found it very odd/confusing how people tend to be like this with regard to other people, but typically not so when it comes to animals and pets. People are more generally willing to recognize when it's "time" to put an animal down to put an earlier end to its suffering, even if it's still something difficult for us to do/accept.

It seems to indicate that we have a harder time letting go of other fellow humans than we do with non-humans, even when they're both classified as loved ones or even family. Not sure what that really says about us, though.
