At any rate, the decision is changed at this point. I'll again remind you that I'm going thorough several hundred suspension decisions a week (in addition to process all of the UGC and handling all of the internal work that goes into running a site this large) and there's no way I can get them all right. I'm a human and I'm going to mess up, and after rereading this post again I do realize it probably should've gone right to a ban. That's why I rely on my team and even you all to keep me honest on it. Next time, instead of just accusing me of being a shitty person, just bring it to my attention instead. The mods have 24/7 access to me and users can use feedback tickets. Talking shit on CE where I'm rarely going to see it, even with mentions isn't going to get a resolution.

Is there no communication between you and the mods? Several times they've disagreed with your decision but not challenged you about it.

As stated, we have a means of direct communication. I don't even see this user being discussed at all there.

Why not correct the mistake or explain why being happy the holocaust happened isnt a ban? Literally 3 mods disagreed with you, you get told that and then moved the goalposts. @SBAllen

If I banned every user who posted something I don't agree with, we wouldn't have any users at all. I picked the punishment based on history and other factors. Again, I'm happy to change it to a ban and at this point I probably will, but it's just unusual that several moderators would openly question the decision without actually asking me about it.

The moderation staff has a direct line to me. I'm not talking about them posting something in a topic because I can't and don't read every post in every topic.

I go through hundreds and hundreds of suspensions a week. There's going to be an occasion every now and then where I pick a punishment people don't agree with. That's fine and understandable, but as of this point I haven't heard from a single moderator who thinks I should make a different call. The court of public opinion seems to think so, and that's fair I suppose. I'm not against reverting the decision of a purg and making it a ban, but I usually don't do that unless a lead approaches me about it.

As for Vegy, he has multiple accounts, knew exactly what he was doing, and therefore lost a few alts. It isn't an apples to apples comparison.

People wrongfully assume that fewer people using the message boards at a given time and fewer votes on the daily polls = the site dying, which I can understand why they might think that but it's not the way the site has ever worked. Traffic from logged in users accounts for very little overall traffic.

I really enjoyed playing it. If you're on the fence, you can pick up Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion for a fraction of the price. It'll teach you the game as you play the first several scenarios, the setup is significantly faster, and if you enjoyed it and want to move on to Gloomhaven proper, you can even bring your JotL character(s) into Gloomhaven as well.

I have zero users on ignore, and there are zero posts ITT I can't see prior to my post (in case "it includes people who've blocked you") yet I saw two cl's at one point here.

I didn't say for posts that YOU ignored, I said for posts that are being ignored.

A random "cl" was accidentally included in one of our templates that triggered for each ignored message. Fixed it, and make of that what you will for the topics where you saw a lot of them.
