This person then claimed that no one can tell the difference. All of these movies have come out in the past fifteen years are in various formats such as: Tube camera... which I'm not actually sure what it's recorded onto but it's a fun thing to throw in here DV Tape 16mm 35mm 65mm/70mm IMAX iPhone 4K This should be fairly easy imo. Some of the images might be too recognizable and give it away tho. Anyway, there are between 1 and 3 of each of the above formats in the below images. See if you can correctly guess which is which!!! However I must say that this one lived up to and then surpassed any expectations I had. Very dense in a character sense - there are at least six, maybe seven characters who get what I would describe as "Major Scenes." You know, like what would be in an Oscar reel for an actor when the nominees are being announced at the ceremony. Except instead of people shouting in fat suits during some boring Oscar bait period piece, it's actors who give themselves over completely to the material and their scene partners, who seem like real, three dimensional people. Don't really wanna go into detail about what it's about since I feel like it would give away what happens in the final hour when things hit a crescendo. Sorry. Anyway it is three hours long and subtitled, of course. I am but it is three hours long and I can't be bothered to turn seeing a movie into a five hour ordeal with traffic added in. Which I feel bad about. If it were playing closer to me I'd go see it. Here are the last five films to win Best Picture from both awards bodies: 2018: Roma 2014: Boyhood 2010: The Social Network 2009: The Hurt Locker 2005: Brokeback Mountain All big Oscar players, but I suspect Drive My Car won't have the capital to mount a strong Oscar campaign. It is being distributed by Janus Films who are owned by the Criterion Collection and generally only do very small releases for foreign films or restorations of older films. Jared Leto also made me believe it is actually 100% possible to be incredibly racist towards Italians. Also maybe it was just shitty AMC projection but the movie was so dark/drab looking. Speaking of shitty AMC projection my showing of West Side Story froze for like ten minutes in the middle. Pretty good way to spend $17. Saw it on 70mm and it was gorgeous. Super funny. Good soundtrack with just one Jonny Greenwood composed piece. Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman would be movie stars in another timeline where anyone gave a shit about real movies. I was looking for tickets there last night and I didnt show movies for anything past 11/19 i went to their site which looks like its from the 90s and got it there. Starts on thanksgiving I think apparently its easy to get into a screening which they seem to do every night tho, can just lie about being part of a guild, they apparently dont double check any of this --- |
