Not putting 20 percent down means you have to pay extra fees for years. Repair costs can be substantial and unpredictable if you're not buying a pricey new build. It was so heinous that even some lenders and bankers opposed it. The only thing that kept it from taking effect is the fact that Trump lost the election.
