| nikko004 09/20/21 6:47:26 AM #6 | imo a good cyoa is how it is because you actually don't know the story you want to tell, and slowly as more choices are made, the story you DO want to tell shapes itself out like sure you could mark some key plot points, but the tricky part is how you get to those key plot points, and that's where the choices are best employed another good mindset to take with cyoa's is to not give too much of a shit about the plot, and very much give a shit about the characters and their dynamics instead. Good characters can easily lead to a good plot, and its a lot easier to play with choices that affect the characters rather than the plot also in regards to multi-povs you can still very much pull it off in a cyoa, and it kinda ties with that point of being character-driven rather than plot-driven --- How to open a door, Step one: https://imgur.com/EWKRS |
