I worked at a CVS pharmacy. The pharmacists would have to eat at their work station or take five to hide among the shelves of medications where the customers couldn't see them.

After closing do not let employees leave one at a time.
Vary the times youre walking in before opening and walking out after closing.
Do not go to the bank the same time everyday.
Do not attempt to physically stop shoplifters.

Same for all fast food. And idgaf how small the business is. If you own a small business then YOU fucking close or work alone. If you can't afford to spend 15 bucks or so an hour to pay for an extra employee or two, you need to assume that incredible risk.

No one should be in a store alone on or off the clock unless they are the owner, or a manager and the store is locked up from the inside.

The chick fil a I work at just closed the lobby temporarily because a big chunk of employees are sick. Or quit. They just gave me another raise at least, I'm now making 15.10 and get full time hours. Still sucks having to be on the front lines tho.

This is sad, but the they I referred to was actually one of my supervisors. That work with me. Obviously making more than me. Not a customer. This is a joke industry, which is why I refuse to get upset over things anymore. I make 15.10 at full time in fast food as a non leader. This is considered competitive. I'm just incredibly lucky I have a fixed rate mortgage, if I was at the mercy of the rental market I'd be terrified. I got lucky.

So if you're money bags im sure it's a vacay. But for many its super shitty.

So many people can't get sick pay the whole time they're gone. For me, only making a lil over 15 an hour, if I catch covid, I'm losing at least 425 bucks. My mortgage is over 1k. Luckily my wife works from home and brings home more, but a week or two of my income gone is fucking bad.
