They aren't necessarily brave ideas. He's just a big independent voice that is more relevant than any talking head on the networks. Prime time guy at Fox (is that Tucker Carlson?) is the only on-air person approaching Joe in views.

He's all that and he's a guy that is wilfully spreading vaccine misinformation and conspiracy theories which has a real societal cost globally, so maybe the criticisms are valid

A lot of the noise surrounding Joe is because the news model of paying prime time guys 10-20 million a year to brainwash people into wars and division is failing. Trump is out of office and ratings nosedived at most of the networks. Why else do sex scandals and convenient scandals seem to get people fired or suspended at an increasing pace? Matt Lauer, Megan Kelly, Whoopie Goldberg, Cuomo, O'Reilly etc. These companies are severing ties with a lot of these people.

Joe is a target because he's made of moneybags and he broadcasts people with alternative opinions (ahem, anti-war among other things). That's it in a nutshell. Misinformation is secondary. CNN / FOX / MSNBC made their names on that. They're just jealous that they're being tuned out. There's nothing pure about big media trying to take down the 5 foot manlet.

Well, this is a better theory than "bald midget bad", anyways.

I love the spin this take has that characterises the only possible explanations for Joe Rogan's bad press is a) there is a conspiracy to take down brave ideas, or 2) NPC's don't even know what they're mad about

We trialled group spotify a few months back and it was a disaster. Turns out half the office likes crazy frog era trance music and the other half likes Leonard Cohen (except for me, I was the only person with sublime music taste obv). Everyone was unhappy.

So now we're back to local mainstream radio. Do you know how BAD radio is these days? It's as bad as ever, but now radio stations have zero budget. I think they buy 4 songs per month.

Drove into work this morning fantasising in a really dark way about how I was gonna hand in my resignation letter and give my director an earful on how underappreciated I am. Been fucking grinding this whole year and dealing with so much bullshit and all I hear is more bullshit.

You know those shower thought fantasies you have of quitting in a really dramatic way, or giving your boss a dressdown? For a solid 20 minutes on my commute I kept reciting the perfect argument in my head. Naturally the whole room was shocked as I delivered every blow with perfect execution.

So I get into work and she sends me a message saying can we chat. I go into her office. "Just so you know, I've put you forward to the board for a salary raise". She goes on for longer about all the stuff I thought nobody had picked up on.

Can this bitch read my thoughts? Unnerving.

There are different types of being "fit" than being jacked. A lot of those guys, even if they are fit, aren't necessarily healthy given how much bad broscience surrounds that culture. I feel like endurance, cycling, hiking, rock climbing, etc. tend to skew more left.

I doubt there is a huge trend in reality though, people of different fitness levels come from all over the spectrum. The right wing skew in places like YouTube is because conservative men tend to have more fragile masculinity, and things like being physically strong are given a lot of value. Even if you're a left wing lifter, lifting isn't really part of your political identity
