They elect Biden, who praises Mitch McConnell daily and appoints the most corrupt Chevron lawyers to federal spots that eats away at environmental protections.

My post didn't even make some case against your opening post, so what was even your point of even nitpicking that specific part of my post lol.

The better wages and working conditions aspect is fine. That group is fine.

However the part of the group who only work less than 25 hours a week, expecting to get paid big boy money doing work that doesn't require years of experience or education......are just plain lazy. Ignoring those type of people are hiding among the antiwork movement also isn't helping the cause.

I'm fact, the name of the movement is just terrible. "Antiwork" isn't a clever name, it's a name that's easy to attack. It's like the ridiculous "defund the police" slogan that was supposed to sound deep.

Pure heart =/= not selfish or great person.

Pure heart just speaks more to being an open book to one's motives. Gokus actions literally are not those of a hero. The Young Justice series actually put a spin on the "pure hearted" misconception as well with a twist of one of its villains.

Even pretending to fall on thinking it meant he has values of a good person, his actions speak far louder. His actions show he values his own fun over the innocent lives of people, universes, and his own family and friends. He is willing to happily get them killed so long as he can have fun fighting. The importance of their well being is an afterthought to his fun.

Intentions may be pure in the sense he's not hiding his motives, however its definitely not actions of a good person who isn't selfish.

Thats why I asked what OPs strategy is. I think its a good idea to hedge for now since there is some uncertainty in the market. But if OP wants to maximize gains, then theyll need to reallocate and focus on a few sectors that will do well in 2022. Since most people dont beat the market, VTI should be the core of the portfolio.

Would like to maximize gains, but at the same time looking to get in on a few 5 year term winners? Don't know if that makes any sense though.

I definitely want to make some good money 2022. So to give a more straightforward answer, I'd like to focus my portfolio towards that end.

Thats a short timeframe to judge your investments, especially since November and December were pretty rough on most stocks. I wouldnt be too hard on yourself. But Id still add more into VTI

What is your 1 year return? You should be doing alright with VTI in there.

Id examine where ETFs overlap and cut my losses. Get an idea on which sectors you believe will perform the best in 2022 and reallocate towards those sectors. But Id reallocate the most into VTI since it covers the US market. Diversity preserves wealth, concentration builds wealth.

Year has been awful tbh.

Went the etf route about 2 months ago. Attempting to go a more safer route with etf's but still learning on what etf I need to have in my portfolio.

My 1 year return is about $200 above. (Factoring 100% of my portfolio).
The etfs alone though (approx 55% of my portfolio) I have lost about $100 since early November.

If you didn't think the losers had a chance to come back any time soon then it was a good move. When you realize a loss by selling, that amount lost can be deducted from your taxes (up to $3k per year). Any realized losses can offset realized gains for the year (assuming you had realized gains that you will now have to pay taxes on).

I have a number of losers that I'm bag holding where I need to decide whether I think they will come back eventually and hold, or if they are permanently fucked and I realize the loss, which will lower my tax bill for the year.

I sold my bag holders and relocated the remaining losses into new stocks.

Would you say this was a bad move for my taxes? I lost about 1k overall, and traded/relocated 3 to 4k to different stocks.

I'm totally clueless to what stocks does to my taxes.
