I had been following this case a little as it was going because a buddy of mine works with the law firm representing the families. Its a pretty interesting issue. Like the post with the footnotes said, there are laws to limit liability against the gun manufacturers so people cant sue them when their products kill people but there is an exception if the manufacturer advertises in an illegal or false way.

IIRC, the case survived a motion to dismiss filed by the defense citing that liability law. When the motion was denied it was kind of expected to settle and not go to trial. There was a settlement offer in the 30 mil range at one point so this was a much better result.

I dont think the causal link issue was as much of a problem as has been suggested. The real threat was having the case go to a jury.

A good BMX or snowboarding game would be great imo. Dave Mirra was a ton of fun for similar reasons and they never tried to follow it up.

The updated THPS were fun and worth playing.

Too bad you couldn't do it in person. Yell at them YOU'RE FIRED GET OUT OF MY OFFICE then throw a chair at them as they leave.

When I have to do it in person I go to their office with someone from HR (and security if needed or to make a point) so they cant take docs or files. Its a, you have a half hour to pack your things and leave this building type thing.

Those have not been fun in my experience.

I'd support a relegation/promotion system in U.S. sports.

IMO, college football would be perfect for this. Have a few different divisions where three or four teams move up to down each season and then there will be meaningful games each week.

I had a decent stack and was on the button, early position raised all in (about half my stack) and then the guy before me reraised all in which had me covered. So I knew I was against two monsters. I made the decision to fold because I thought I was behind. And I was kinda right.

first raiser had pocket nines, second raiser had pocket 3s. Id have won the side pot, and the eight came on the river, Id have won the whole thing with the river. But I played defense and folded.

You made the right play though. It should be a fold there. If you cant include light squeezes in the 3 betters range 8s is a fold all day. I think the only time it wouldnt be is if the 3b can be made light and you are deep enough to 4b.

I hate tournaments because so much of the play is dictated by stack size.

Online is such a different game. I use it to kind of practice and get hands in because I dont live close to a place I can play in anymore. Used to play a ton and still get out to Vegas a bunch including the WSOP every year. Just booked a trip for the basketball tournament. The games are awesome that weekend.

Turn: 8c (9.75)
check, I bet $5.00 and he calls. (Too small I guess)

He bets $25.00.
I call.

Looked like a missed flush to me. Bad call, not much else I can beat here and he got max value. I generally dont fold rivers enough and over play top pair. Its like the two things Im working on this year and here is yet another example of why I need to.

The worst is when you are an alternate and dont get a seat until several levels in and have to play short stack right away. How deep does it start and how long are levels?

Yeah, obviously people can like what they like but I think golf has a wide appeal and most people just never get to try.

Not rich but grew up around it and still play a decent amount. Golf has something for everyone. There are super exclusive private clubs where rich dudes can laugh at the poor while feeling important but there are a lot more cheaper public courses where normal people can unwind after work or on the weekend, have a few beers, be outside, and challenge themselves.

Yeah, its nonsense. Russian troops have been on the Ukraine border for years but not in the numbers we are seeing now.
