I'm in this moment where.. my only surviving parent has major health issues.. I value my free time immensely with myself, and spending time with my loved ones. 5000 a month is enough for me to live. You aren't going to be remembered for how much you working, but how present you were in other people lives.

I guess it depends on your age and situation. if I was in my 20s, I might have taken the 50k a year for 5 years. But then I if I could go back in time knowing everything I know now, I wouldn't change choose that job. I'd spend as much time and memories with my dad before he succumbed to cancer (assuming I couldn't change his fate). or if I became a doctor that made that much and was able to save him, I'd do that too. But that's not a boring desk job.

nutrient wise, I think it's the healthiest vegetable

it is for 5 days a week. You lose a lot of time, and it's not good for your health.

Dude is likely making well over 100k pre taxes (assuming he is living in the states) After deducting federal and government taxes, and whatever company deductions he does (health insurance, 401k)

Not that comfortably you cant. I take home more than that and love to travel. I get a lot of time off and spend most of it travelling but with thousands less each month and more time to travel, the money would run out quickly.

You can definitely live comfortably in all countries with $5000 a month. Don't stay in a hotel everyday for one in EU countries. Stay at a hostel.

I enjoyed running but found lifting unbelievably boring. That and I'm not young young anymore. Working out/strengthening my core could help with my constant back pain, but I have zero energy to test that.

I'm the exact opposite. Running in a tread mill or trails around my house are boring. It's hard to make meaningful progress in running and weight lifting though.

For weight lifting, you have to eat more than you normally to get results.. Stalling is boring. But just the mindset of getting more reps or increasing the strength is awesome.

i'm used to fall damage.. Not being it is weird, unless there's a mechanic that allows you to prevent you from taking fal damage. Playing Xenoblade X for 5 hours and noticing no fall damage was swipe to me though.

I've done all three in my life:

1. Miner in australia, earning a 6 figure salary with all travel, expenses and accommodation paid for. Working 12 hour days, 7 days a week, shifting bags of cement in the australian desert
2. Campaign manager for a marketing start up, managing 50+ campaigns across 30 client accounts, basically stealing customer money and dealing with their phone calls every day. 60+ hours of mental hell
3. Current job - software consultant for a software dev company. Cruisiest job I've ever had. 38 hours a week, always leave on time, 1 hour for lunch, virtually no KPIs, management is very easy going. About half the paycheck of the first two.
If I could go back to my early 20s I would work the first job again and this time be really sensible with my money. If I was financially literate back then I could be set for life now. I don't think I could do that job now, too physically taxing and not stimulating enough.

I would never take the second job again. Worst job I've ever had. Paid decently and I got to live in the city, but the anxiety was overwhelming every day.

My current job is pretty good. pay could obviously be better, but I never feel stressed about going to work and that is invaluable.

how many days off a month did you get in your first job? That honestly sounds ridiculously tiring.

I've done physically and mentally stressful jobs also. Working 12hour shifts at a printing press after graduating college with a liberal arts degree. 3 days one week and 4 days the other. Grave shift. I hated the job and it was impossible for me to go back to school too with that schedule.

I've also worked another physical job where I was exposed to chemicals (particularly at the end of shift,k. never again.

As I get older, work life balance matters more. Timephysical and mental health are important. I can't compromise those.

After me and my first ex broke up, I borrowed almost a grand from her with no intentions of giving it back, as my get back for how we broke up. (She was pretty well off at the time and became a successful social media influencer because of stuff I taught her)

Hell, I'm not surprised, considering the average American thinks gender means the same thing as sex. Most people will only care about movements that impact them directly. How many Americans cared about Black Lives Matter, Stop Asian Hate, and post 9-11 stuff that impacted anyone who looks Middle Eastern, Muslim, or had a turban on? It's sad

The Israeli government is the oppressor who are illegally occupying and taking away people's homes and forcing millions of others to live in a 24-7 monitored open-air prison. The Israeli government keeps spinning it on themselves that they are the victims--and sadly, they brainwashed much of their people to believe that. "We have a right to defend ourselves" after Palestinians try to defend themselves.. And then they do 10x the amount of damage and wonder why Palestinians hate them so much.
