The difference in quality of life between working a minimum wage job and not working one at all is probably not that much, when many of these people will be relying on family and friends for financial aid regardless. That comes back to wages stagnating to the point of uselessness.

yeah, it's kinda weird. they obviously didn't have much of a budget and nick really didn't seem to have much faith in them, but what's there is fun.

The production values for this game seems bizarrely low. I don't know if that's a matter of funding or talent.

It's weird honestly that nobody has been able to make "Smash Bros but something else" work, very few have even tried. This is something that when I saw it I immediately thought "this is obviously a good idea".

I kinda regret that I missed out on the Metroid franchise.

when I was a kid, I didn't care too much about video games, so I missed out on the stuff on the NES & SNES.

and when I was older, I tried out Metroid Prime, but it was before I liked first-person games, so I ended up shelving it.

anyway, Dread looks pretty cool, and if I ever get a Switch (or its successor), I hope to try it out.

Like 90% of Metroid fans probably got into the series after Nintendo had basically shelved it and handed it off to Retro or other studios, the games were not hot sellers, excluding the Prime series.

They've aged extremely well, I don't think you miss anything by going back to them now.

I was shocked to see it on Disney Plus so soon, I didn't realize it has bombed so hard.

Anyway it was quite good, though obviously not very deep.

It's obviously weird to see a giant corporation make such a generic, very expensive action/comedy film, featuring a lot of product placement, and have the theme be "profit driven corporations are bad".

There's such an enormous disconnect between what the film is saying and what it's doing, it feels like a joke.
