School seems misguided. Should be less about dates and names and more about how bad situations begin and progress, what could be done instead, and how to prevent bad cycles from starting, or how to stop them once they do start before they can develop into something that demands an armed intervention.

It certainly did seem like the lesson they were teaching was that Germany is a country of evil monsters, but we're the good guys and we won, so take pride in that. Rather, the real lesson to take home was that evil, given the proper conditions, can take root anywhere, in anyone, at any time, and that we must be mindful and vigilant not just of other people, but of ourselves, not to perpetuate the kinds of conditions that can lead to that kind of thing happening again.

It 8 y/o mature enough to teach about genocide though? My kid learned about Hitler on second grade by another student and he had an extreme reaction screaming that Germany was evil while also crying.

Of course, they told us to just teach him in a more "macro version" of the events and skip the more intense details.

each feather makes it 10% more offensive. Seriously though, a headfull wouldve been definitely not okay and the school wouldve most likely intervened (more progressive private school). I imagine the principal is not likely to be a fan of them as it is.

Cause they sent a picture of a few kids (mine included) wearing an "native American feather headdress". It only has like 3 feathers. Now some parents are discussing about the insensitivity of it...which I agree to some point, but given that they're 8 year olds, Im a bit more forgiving about it.

The worst part though was that it wasnt even a school project, but some parent that provided these to the kids for the turkey race.

But if there are no branches to unlock, then thats a bad game.

Id wager that they are doing it because people were abusing the policy. I worked at a company with an unlimited PTO policy in the past and people definitely abused it.

Its quite the jump from unlimited to just 3 days. Looks like new management came in and looked for ways to boost productivity. I have a feeling companies will be stingy with raises and benefits next year to stay afloat or have some growth

It all comes down to assets production in this day and age. Ps1 jrpgs could be huge cause areas were just a few screen of pre rendered backgrounds that took days or weeks to complete with a handful of people working on them. There were no other pre rendered cutscenes besides the CGI ones. There was no mocap, no voice acting, barely any animations outside battles

It takes a looot of money and time to do that and it wouldve taken them 10+ years with no source of revenue in the meantime.

Its simply not financially viable unless they wouldve done a AA game. The games have been great, though the story beats and pacing have suffered bc of this

First few seasons were good. Then it jumps the shark right around the revelation you mentioned.

They should really be doing all NES/SNES FF games in the 2D HD remaster style. Look at the success DQ is having and theyre also the most respectful remakes they can get.

If theyre not making them right now, SQ deserves to go bankrupt.
