It has less to do with how old a person is and more to do with changes in their outlook. Middle age general occurs when a person starts looking forward to things less, and instead spends more time regretting past major decisions (partners, career paths) and/or thinking about their end of life. This onset of pessimism and regret often begets what is commonly referred to as the "mid-life crisis" where a person does something rash in an effort to drastically alter their life trajectory.

For most people, this happens after they've done some real adult living.

It worked for me years ago before I ditched multi-bladed razors for straight razors.

Is this the first RE tv series ever? There have been so many different movies of this franchise that I've completely lost track.

My parents were always very generous to my friends (we're Middle Eastern and generosity to one's guests is an extremely important cultural custom). My friends were always invited to eat with us, be it home cooked meals or takeout (when my friends were over, my parents would make sure order extra burgers and stuff).

Once at another friend's house, his mom said she was gonna go pick up fast food and asked if we wanted anything. One kid opted in, then reached into his pocket and gave the mom some money to cover his order. She accepted the payment immediately, as if this was the expected custom. Even though I had lived in the US for most of my life by that point, this still kinda blew my mind (even moreso because I knew this family was extremely wealthy).

One thing I appreciated about visiting Mount Vernon a few years ago was the transparency with which they acknowledged Washington's slave ownership. Among other things, they included a special wing which celebrated the estate's black workers, whose names are now largely lost to time. I distinctly remember a sign stating Mount Vernon consisted of five Washington family members, around 30 white servants, and approximately 300 black slaves.

And yes, this "slavery wing" was the emptiest part of the estate, visited by almost no one.

I think most people, myself included, prefer the Red9 because it just looks and sounds cooler. However, in terms of pure utility, I gotta give it to the Blacktail, at least in an initial run. It holds significant advantages in terms of firing rate, capacity, and inventory space - and it holds them throughout the game. The Red9's damage per shot advantage is nonexistent or miniscule for most of the game and only becomes significant after getting its Exclusive upgrade (like 75% into the playthrough).

The reaction online seems to be surprisingly well received and hopeful. At worst, people who would have preferred they let it lie, but who don't seem outraged.

I'm not surprised. Most fans want a conclusion, and even if it isn't Miura's, the fact that his team seems so reverent of him and his legacy is probably refreshing to the fanbase. This genuinely seems like a labor of love and duty, not some executive-mandated cash grab.

Little Caesars. I actually prefer their tangier sauce, and I've never seen what's so much better about other big chains that actually justifies like double the price.

I haven't played the game since like 2005 but I remember Kreia being insufferable in the way she "advises" the player character (kinda like those I AM VERY SMART web comics).

I'd still say that Walt's children are much worse off due to his actions even if they wound up getting the money.

When I was in the seventh grade, I was a Nintendo fanboy to the highest degree. Like, as big as you could be. One day there was a kid playing his PSP in class, and I told the teacher on him. Not because he was playing a video game, or because I didn't like him, or because I was distracted, but purely because it was a PSP. The teacher confiscated the kid's PSP, and afterwards, he came over to my desk and broke all of my pencils in anger. When pressed as to why I did this, I responded "Because one less PSP being played is a victory for Nintendo".

Yeah I agree with Turtle here. The ultimate takeaway of the BB universe is that crime doesn't pay. Whether your reasons for getting into the game are money, vengeance, the thrill, or an actual altruistic desire to better off your family - you and those around you will be ultimately worse off, oftentimes tragically so. The "collateral deaths" like Andrea serve to hammer that point home.

- Senior year of high school, I knew about some classmates who planned an elaborate plot to cheat on the physics final (I wasn't even in this class). This had nothing to do with a sense of moral outrage - I just hated that these particular students were obnoxious, arrogant, and self-assured that they'd get away with it, so I anonymously tipped off the teacher and he stopped it ahead of time. Students in question were in panic mode and I loved hearing about it.

Oh man, I thought I was getting it confused with the Florida high school shooting from a few years ago.

I wept during Sandy Hook, it was the first news story to ever hit me like that. Today I pretty much didn't care. This is what we want.

These are the three single-player games where I may have invested over 300 hours apiece. I know I've done three complete playthroughs of both BotW and XC, and each playthrough logged in at a good 100+ hours. My memory with an older game like OoT is much hazier, but I wouldn't be surprised if the first playthrough took me nearly 100 hours as well, and I must have beaten it a good 10 times.

Wind Waker easily. The world, visuals, and music just gelled together so well. Twilight Princess, by contrast, felt janky and disconnected. It's like Nintendo was unsure whether they wanted to create a brand new type of game or "better graphics OoT," tried to do both, and couldn't stick the landing for either.

Of the four From games I've played...

Bloodborne > Elden Ring > Demon's Souls > Dark Souls

Clearly I prefer the offshoots over the mainline Souls series.

Yeah, there's nothing in the movie that even hints at her being his student/junior/subordinate. They're both doctors and seem to carry equal authority in their respective fields.

According to Wikipedia, she was born in 1967 and the movie came out in 1993 - she was 26 at release and 25 during filming.

According to this, Chuck was born in 1944 and would have been in his late 50s by the time the show started. That's still a bit of a stretch, but it's not that egregious - people age differently, and he could pass as one of those past generation men who simply age faster.

That sounds pretty great to me. I use the default "weight loss" feature on my gym's elliptical, which is 33 minutes inclusive of cooldown. I set it on max incline and high resistance and can barely match your 30 minute output.

And I love making the plunge into more cardio once I hit my 30s (after neglecting it in my teens and 20s). Yeah I'm leaner now, but I feel better and I rarely tire doing regular physical activity. It's a boon to my confidence when I'm out hiking with friends and am just enjoying the atmosphere while they're gulping down air. A couple weeks ago, a friend and I saw a man pushing his broken down car on the road and stopped to help. By the time we pushed it a few minutes to his home, the man and my friend were fucken spent and I wasn't even breathing hard. At that moment, my cardio made me feel way tougher and physically capable than an extra 50 lbs on the bench would have.

So keep at it!

A white 18-year-old is a kid (perhaps a troubled or misguided kid, depending on the crime they committed). A black 18-year-old is scary and a potential threat to the carefully cultivated safety of America's suburbs. I dunno, Nacho was one of the show's major characters (I'd say Jimmy, Kim, Mike, and Nacho were the central four), and he was killed off in Episode 3.
