Weird. Why is that?

Better spacing, mainly. Makes the bar better-sized for touch interface. Also makes it a consistent size regardless of whether you have the (currently non-functional) avatar option turned on, or not.

Edit: by non-functional, I mean broken, not that it does nothing. I've yet to come up with a good way to avoid a bunch of extra network calls to get someone's avatar, so it just shows the default one for everyone currently.

Since the last update when a poll topic title is 2 lines long (text at 100%) the poll graphic clips into the first few letter of the title. Not app breaking but it is noticable.

You mean on the topic list, the icon that denotes a special topic type? Poll being one of them, there's also locked and stickied. I'll add that to my to do.

Also was it intentional that the post header where the username and post time are located is now bigger than before even though the text is the same size? Now there is a little overhead on each post so that there are fewer posts on screen than before.

Only a little less than a third of users have updated to it. And there's about 20% still on the version before the last, meaning they aren't compatible with the domain change. Update your apps, people!

my biggest gripe about the overall story(post-TLJ) was how TFA made Snoke seem like he was going to be some kind of incredibly important/powerful sith and then TLJ just made him a pretty generic villain that was too stupid/weak to keep some force noobs from chopping him

felt pretty lame after so much hype around the mystery of Snoke in TFA

I think it's probably because like others said Abrams has one vision for Snoke and Johnson had another. That's kind of dumb on Johnson's part to casually toss away a character like that just because he didn't like them, if this is what actually happened.

I've read some stuff to that effect as well, that it basically summed up to "creative differences" as they say. Which is dumb.

One loved theory is that it is Darth Plagueis reborn, or that he learned what he knows from Plagueis.
Plagueis could have faked his own death to make Sidious do all the hard work in creating an empire, and then take it over. Or he had a vision that the first empire would fall.

I actually mentioned a similar possibility to my wife when we were driving home from the theater last night. That would be interesting, and potentially plausible, but I don't see it as likely as Revan, or even Mace. Outside of books (that are no longer canon), Plagueis has been almost entirely ignored. KotOR's place in the canon is kind of up in the air, at least.

If I remember correctly whats been told in canon books:

The remnants of the Empire fled into the Unknown Region (a part of unexplored space neighbouring the Galaxy) and there they encountered Snoke who gathered them together and began building the First Order.

What book talked about that, if you happen to know? That could potentially make him Revan, which would make some sense since the new trilogy does have some influences from the Yuuzhan Vong, who themselves IIRC it was strongly implied were trained or influenced in some way by Revan.

Just saw Last Jedi, and aside from the arcing First Order shelling of the fleeing Resistance ships (they wouldn't arc in space, but I'll write it off to a visual conceit to help sell the "out of effective range" plot point), the only real disappointment was that Snoke was killed off while we still know practically nothing about him. I realize a major point of Last Jedi was to wipe clean the "old" Star Wars and let Ep. 9 focus fully on Kylo, Rey, and maybe Finn's full conflict, but I really want to know who Snoke was. He was intriguing.

Mace Windu theories are the most believable I've seen so far, aside from some completely new evil being to the Star Wars universe. If you say Jar Jar I will slap you.
