Don't worry guys! There's no evidence of quid pro quo, so it's totally okay for him to receive all these gifts. And even if there were evidence of quid pro quo, Thomas has been the most consistent(ly awful) justice, so there's no evidence it actually changed his mind! And even if there were, then it's okay because he still didn't break any laws! And even if he did, that's still okay because he's above the law as a Supreme Court Justice.

Why should we hold high ethical standards to the judicial branch that decides all our laws, including Citizens United and Dobbs?

The twists and turns conservatives take to defend this behavior has been insane. Not surprising, just their normal typical insanity. And it's why we should never allow Republicans to hold nation-wide office ever again. I don't care if they put Hunter Biden up for President. If he's the Democratic choice, he's got my vote. We should still try to make good choices, better choices, but at this point I'm 100% blue no matter who. Because the alternative will always be worse. We live in a fucking nightmare.

What's a little $6000/month for their friends kids tuition. I know my mom's landlord lets her stay there free, and then pays for my kids to go to a fancy private school that costs $6000/month. Just another nice guy landlord. Who doesn't have a friend like that?

Emily Nash wasn't allowed to win an individual trophy (even though she could participate at the team level) in a tournament a few years ago.

Yeah it would. Would it make me vote for fascists? No, but it would certainly make me less likely donate money or encourage people to vote because it would dampen enthusiasm if it became a core issue.

I really believe degrading womens sports is an attack on women and womens rights is a deep issue to me. It really bothers me the way some men culturally treat women as property and I get the same vibe from some people that they are treating womens sports as some ridiculous afterthought that doesnt matter because it doesnt matter to them.

But like you said, trans athletes make up a tiny proportion of athletes. I dont think its just to set the stage to torpedo the competitiveness of womens sports to accommodate a tiny fraction of women.

I think kids sports is fine, but at the high school and college level it isnt fair.

So you support women so much that you'll reduce funding to the only party trying to keep what little bodily autonomy they have in order to make sure they don't have to play sports with trans people? Seriously?

Oh and guess what: Men are far more likely to oppose trans people playing on teams other than their birth gender (73%) than women (53%). Really glad you're here to protect us.

In 1988 only 10% of Americans supported Same Sex Marriage.
In 2004, only 39% of Americans supported Same Sex Marriage.
It wasn't until 2009 that Americans started turning around on the issue. By that time, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont and New Hampshire had already legalized same sex marriage.

lol acting like Trump and DeSantis won't run on it anyway. Nobody's going to be like "I was going to vote for Biden, but he wants to let trans people play high school and college sports. So I'm going to vote for Trump." Because those people are already voting for Trump. Anyone who has that strong of an opinion on it is 100% a trump supporter already.

I guess for the primary maybe because DeSantis et al are pathetically denouncing the indictment instead of actually capitalizing on it and saying hey, we all love Trumps policies [for some reason] but we need a candidate without all of these complications. Pretty sad of their electorate if so, though!

The Republican party built themselves a big mess when they went all in on Trump. He came with a lot of gullible rubes who have this idea the deep state is out to get them, and this just confirms it. Anyone who even suggests that Trump maybe shouldn't run because of this will get labeled a part of the Deep State and basically lose Trump's entire base.

I feel like DeSantis would never win the general election because Trump hates him too much to let him win.
