of all the cases they could of picked, they choose this one? this feels like a setup for a shitty decision that the SC doesnt care about just to shut people up about it.

this guy sounds like a real piece of shit that ALREADY has restraining orders on him and has ALREADY went through the due process of getting his guns taken away. this doesnt sound like the red flag law bullshit which can be seen as unconstitutional. so i have no idea why they chose this one to move forward on.

Assuming you have no real brand preferences and just want something that can fill the most roles then id default to a Glock 19. Not my personal favorite, but they are reliable, parts and magazines are everywhere, not incredibly expensive and you can conceal carry it decently assuming you arnt under 5 feet tall.

8 is a direct continuation of 7's story and characters so definitely play through 7 before 8.

as far as 8 as a game itself its alright. it looks great and its got some good moments, but overall its pacing is all over the place and while it puts combat over everything it doesnt really do it well and unfortunately forgoes a lot of 7's more interesting aspects in favor of the combat which doesnt feel like it does in the other RE remakes (especially 4 which it tries to ape the most). i wasnt the biggest fan of 7, but after 8 i came around to it more. 7 is pretty good.

it was always "good" for what it was, just buggy and not what they fully tried to sell to people. thankfully they managed to improve and fix most of its more lackluster aspects minus the main story interaction. even in that regard the dlc improves even more.

Do you really think you'd actually stand a chance against an actual army even having an AR 15?
as opposed to having a double barrel, lever action or nothing at all? yes.

the reaction that no civilian needs it or its too dangerous or its a "military weapon" or a "weapon of mass destruction" stands to be a good reason to own one under a conflict. "you dont stand a chance against a military" while trying to ban or regulate the thing ("military weapon") that would give others atleast something of a fighting chance in that scenario.
TopicIs McDonalds food actually good?

like mentioned, it REALLY depends on a lot of factors. food thats sat in the cabinets or in the fry pan for several minutes or longer will taste different than if it was taken directely out of the frier or off the grill (which you can request and, atleast at the one i use dot work at, they will accommodate you though youll definitely have to wait longer). and even then you have other factors like the quality of the oil used (and how often its already been used), the timings on the drill, the exact meat placement or if the person working it actually takes it off the drill the right way or applies the onions right. on top of the people who actually assemble and if theyll do it the right way utilizing the cabinets the right way ect.

theres just a lot of things that can amount to the food being (overly) sub-par. its called fast food for a reason. if you want actual quality every time you take a bite every day of the week then (for the most part) goto an actual restaurant where youre going to have to wait 20+ minutes.

Citizens vote but congress decides what laws they want
despite what the people want.
the "people" dont know what they want or what they are asked actually entails nor do polls that sample 1000 people who are already aligned with how certain others like to think.

asking someone online or in a phone poll if X should be banned or regulated is a far cry from them actually doing what it would actually take like going out and actually voting, donating, calling representatives ect. most dont give enough of a shit about gun control to actually do something like that. if they did then there would be more in this country.

the NRA has become a boogyman despite hemorrhage money and members for a decade now if not longer (and really if you asked most 2nd amendment supporters [NOT "gun" supporters] then most will tell you they dont care about the NRA and would rather let them rot). people who own guns and know what the 2nd entails are who actually give a shit enough to actually donate, vote and do what it takes to keep things in check, aggressively so. most congressmen dont kowtow to the NRA or organizations, they do it due to their voters who have made is very clear will get rid of them unless they fallow what THEIR voters want.

most of the general voters dont care because guns dont actualy effect them and/or they know its going to be harder to point the blame on an inanimate object rather than the person who wields it.

gun play is the best the series has seen, but its lacking in most other specific ways, especially compared to new vegas or the older games. writing is poor. choices are mostly shit. the world looks nice, but has very little of substance in it (even in comparison to 3). most of its systems feel half-assed like the settlement building and gun crafting along with a poor implementation of the perk system. still if you like to wander around, find stuff and shoot shit its still good for that and it can be better realized to a degree with a large mod community.

for the gun itself or for everything else? either way i know what i actualy paid for one.

$1700 for a knights armament upper. $400 BCM lower and put a $800 acog on it. another $200 for some other stuff (forward handle, slings, connectors ect.). oh and a $300 surefire light. $1400 for a single handgun which was a stainless Dan Wesson Specialist. i also have a standard manufacturing single action army thats worth $2000+, but i only paid $1200 for it at the time.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

the right is trying to eliminate gun ownership in the US? cause thats im talking about, not the other shit you mentioned. you can be for ALL of that and still be in favor of being armed. hell how else do you aim to keep it unless by force? humanity isnt a bastion of democracy like so many delude themselves into.

NatsuSama posted...

Yes there are some on the left who wants to ban them, but it's not the extreme picture right wing media paints. Many on the left just want sensible gun control laws.
there are no sensible gun control laws. what you think is "sensible" isnt what someone else thinks and that sensibility is always subject to change. it always has and always does, especially in context to guns. even the notion that sensible is "not having a crazy person to have one" means the only way to do so is to keep them out of everyone elses hands, especialy when "crazy" can also mean supporting things you dont agree with.

the left are US citizens. the 2nd was meant for US citizens, whether they like it or not or choose to be armed or not, they still have the right to do so. unfortunately many on the left dont see it that way and actively try to sabotage themselves and take everyone down with them.

as far as their most popular items go, yeah it definitely does. you can routinely (if not constantly) find 20-50% off deals or even better on some items. i usualy go for their BOGO deals with their $1 fries offer since they stack so i end up spending half what i normally would on certain orders. with that it doesnt take much to achieve the points either so you can throw in a free hamburger or mcchicken on every third order or so.

Depends on what you really want out of a remake. DS is more of a graphical upgrade with some QoL stuff thrown in while RE4 is a strait up "reimagining" of a lot of elements of the original so you have a lot more new stuff added.

I think we should take our guns at least as seriously as we take our cars, which means licensing requirements and tests to demonstrate competency and responsibility.
realistically the two arnt comparable though unless you throw meaningless padding to keep people out which is what most of the world does. a gun does not require the same level of thought and competency to safely use. there is a very real reason why there are more regulations for vehicles. you need to know a hundred different things to safely operate in public and can cause (and does) magnitudes more damage to the public if improperly used. even depsite all the extra regulations and safety features added cars still cause billions in damages and in the US millions of injurys each year. despite the 40-50% ownership rate of the US, guns are not even close.

not to say safety shouldnt be a requirement, but its all common sense as far as how to safely operate a gun (even the 4 main rules can be boiled down to only two). finger off the trigger unless you are planning to fire it and dont point it at anything you arnt intending to shoot. thats literally it. there, you now know hjow to operate a gun. now all thats left is some practice which can be done at home and at a range. anything else specific can be learned from a 3 minute youtube video.

realistically there would be more, but no where enough to make up any difference. id be more worried about everything else. the real crazies will turn to other more destructive measures that are both more risky for them, but can carry harsher tolls. more arson, poisons, bombings ect. atleast with someone shooting you can hear it and potentially run. its harder (if impossible) to defend your self against the other methods. even something like vehicular assault/murders. on top of that other crimes will most likely increase drastically like home invasions, assaults, robbery ect. especially when criminals can still have access to guns thanks to the internet, 3d printing and a little extra ingenuity not to mention how many that are already out there to begin with which would probably take 1-2 generations just to make a dent in.

i think certain things would be improved in some areas while others get turned into a dumpster fire and in general nothing good ever really comes from disarming the general population while the system who is still in control is already corrupt as hell.

TopicWhy is gun violence ok in America but not in the UK/Japan?
Dark_Spiret
04/30/23 9:29:55 AM
#20
no one thinks gun violence is OK. both sides just have differing methods on how to deal with it to the point that either nothing gets down or gets done badly (and allows for horrible precedence going forward).

and the UK and Japan never had a gun culture to begin with and in general they more clearly see their citizens as subjects rather than individuals which cuts down on what rights they have. with that (and i suppose on the flip side) their governments tend to offer more incentives for pacification which cuts down certain types of violence. if these things wernt in place, guns or not youd be seeing higher violence levels which in turn if the US had, despite all its guns you would see a lower degree on not just gun violence but violence in general. the guns are less of a problem than what laws are in place to its citizens that feels like they offer less of a branching off point and need for a future.
