I got my Base Set Venusaur! That means I have a complete base set!! ... Although, what I really want is a complete ENGLISH Base Set, and for that I need one more card, a Hitmonchan.

Seems like confirmation that Pedro Pascal has been cast as Reed Richards.

Filming for Fantastic 4 was delayed until later this year and Pascal has dropped out of "Weapons" to accomodate the scheduling change.

I got some more of my cards from my parent's... plenty of duplicates, but I was able to find some Rocket and Gym Heroes/Challenge cards I didn't have yet. Also, there's some other pretty weird cards mixed in, like some that look like base set reprints? And not base set 2. Some were even fully holo, if that makes sense?

I maintain they should just drop Kang and the multiverse as a major plotline. It's been done into the ground. Loki S2 is a decent ending to it.

It's true that that could be used as an off-ramp, you could just say that the TVA did a really really good job pruning Kangs I guess. Still feels a little weird, but it could work.

It's too bad, considering The Marvels is by all accounts pretty good.

The Marvels is getting pulled from theaters after the holiday season and the weekly box office has fallen so low that Disney is no longer going to report it for the remaining time because it will likely be around $1 million per week.

That means the box office will come in even lower than estimates initially thought and the movie will likely cost the studio over a quarter billion dollars in loses and may break the record for biggest theatrical bomb in cinema history.

Currently, the record is held by either John Carter or The Flash.

John Carter lost between $143 million and $255 million when adjusted for inflation. The Flash lost around $200 million.

The Marvels looks like it will end up losing between $200 million and $260 million total.

I think MOM is one of my favorite MCU movies, and definitely my favorite of the ones that came out over the past few years (besides Guardians 3).

More MCU news cropping up:

- Secret Wars and The Kang Dynasty are supposed to be effectively a part 1 and part 2, similar to Infinity War and Endgame.

- Following the removal of The Kang Dynasty director to have him focus entirely on Shang-Chi 2 and Wonderman, Kevin Feige wants a single director to be in charge of Secret Wars and The Kang Dynasty.

- Wonderman is confirmed to be a "Marvel Spotlight" feature that won't have any major impact on the metastory of the movies.

- Sam Raimi is the top choice to direct Secret Wars and Kang Dynasty. Not clear how likely it is to finally happen, but Feige wants someone who has delivered for the MCU before to direct the two movies. Jon Favreau and Ryan Coogler are the other top choices.

- Multiverse of Madness & Loki writer Michael Waldon is working on the scripts for both Secret Wars and Kang Dynasty.

- The Kang Dynasty may get a title change to make it more obviously a continuation of Secret Wars (and possibly as a way to de-emphasize Kang in the marketing).

More detailed Pedro Pascal/Fantastic 4 casting info:

- Pascal is not confirmed to play Reed yet. He is in talks and both sides want him to, but the main issue is trying to see if he can schedule it around his prior commitments (Gladiator 2 and The Last of Us Season 2) next year.

- Prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike, they did screen tests for backup choices. The backups were Christopher Abbott and Jamie Dornan. Marvel was reportedly not super happy with either of them, so it isn't clear if they are still the planned backups for Reeds.

- Vanessa Kirby is very likely to be cast as Sue Storm.

- Joseph Quinn is likely to be cast as Johnny Storm.

- Ebon Moss-Bachrach is likely to play The Thing.

- Kevin Feige is looking to cut casting costs to prevent more $250 million movie budgets. Emma Stone and Adam Driver were top casting choices, but they wanted too much money.

- They are casting for Galactus and the top choice is currently Javier Bardem with Antonio Banderas as the backup.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Marvel is "taking stock" after the financial failure of The Marvels and planning a significantly reorganized strategy going forward.

- De-prioritization of Disney+ shows and their connection to the movies.

- Only 1 movie release next year (this was already likely the plan due to the strikes, but it is now confirmed that nothing but Deadpool 3 will release next year)

- Deadpool 3 delayed again to July 26th.

- Captain America 4 delayed for 9 months from the original release date to February 14th, 2025.

- Thunderbolts delayed again for another 6 months to July 25, 2025.

- Blade delayed another 9 months to Nov. 7, 2025.

- May pair down theatrical releases to 1 or 2 per year after 2025.

- Feige and his team are doing a thorough review of all the major tentpole releases, will return to Feige directly overseeing all major projects, and will delay them if Feige and his team haven't had time to go over them sufficiently before release.

- Part of this transition and de-emphasis on the continuity of D+ shows means that Feige will be working primarily on films again and Marvel will have official showrunners in charge of most of the story decisions of the shows.
