I got my wife a gemstone ring that cost like $700 and she loved it and still wears it out. It's her favorite color and the gemstone of the month we met.

When I first saw it I liked it, but didn't love it. Then I saw it again and my opinion of the movie has just been unraveling further and further ever since.

Let me just put it this way. When I look deeper into any good movie, I get a sense of wonder for the world depicted in it. On repeat viewings, I realize themes that I may have not realized previously, interwoven intricacies that aren't immediately apparent, and just cool stuff that makes the whole thing a better experience.

The more I think about The Last Jedi, the more I hate it. The more plot holes, bad writing / storytelling, universe breaking logic, poor story decisions and just problems that I realize. The movie gets worse with repeated viewings, not better.

TopicIs it normal for college-goers to not have time for a social life?

I think your assumption that you need social skills to talk to people is flawed. Just say shit. I'm not the best at it, but I've constantly put myself in situations outside my comfort zone and I've gotten a lot better at quickly making friends and socializing in different environments because of it. It just takes practice, but to get started it just takes not really giving a shit and just talking to whoever about anything.

I gotta be honest, I feel like the majority of people who claim they have no time to do anything because of school work are either lazy, slow, or both. Or something else, like maybe they like having it as an excuse because they're not very social.

I went through 4 years of college, working 1-2 jobs while maintaining a long-distance relationship during much of it, and continuously doing things with friends / having a social life. True, I wasn't in the most intensive field or the best school. But I still had projects / tests / homework all the time that I had to do. I understand some majors had more than me though.

However, my wife was in a high workload major. She was in an honors program at a pretty prestigious school. She still had time to work, maintain a long distance relationship with me, and have a social life.

I should mention we both were commuter students and didn't live on campus, which makes me even more incredulous when people claim they have no free time between classes and homework.

That's actually super surprising to me. I lost like 20 pounds in bootcamp because it's literally all cardio.
I guess this is partially due to the higher ranking guys not doing the same amount (any) PT.

From what I remember about basic was that everybody over a certain weight lost pounds, where everybody under a certain weight gains pounds. I gained a good amount, but I was like super skinny before. And most guys like me probably put on muscle(except for one small guy who just put on a lot of pounds, but it was most likely fat. Not trying to be mean, though.

But the part about higher ranking guys not doing PT is most likely correct. That being said, on my base, barely anyone did it. And when ever they try to make PT mandatory, it turns out badly. And usually, it's mostly lower ranking guys for many different reasons ranging from waivers to my shop needs me to I just don't want to go...

I don't know anyone who gained weight in bootcamp. We ran miles and miles and did nothing that would promote weight gain.

I think the gain was usually muscle. It's was only the smaller guys. Like the ones who couldn't really afford to lose weight. Haha. I'm like 5'3 and weight probably 100 or so joining up. I don't think losing weight would have been healthy. But gaining weight would, especially if I gained muscle...

It's because they put everyone on the same regiment of eating, sleeping, and training. It 100 makes sense that the weight of everyone would normalize (the fat people lose weight and the skinny people gain weight). It's all about net energy balance, there's actually very little difference in basal metabolism from person to person.

Depends what type of running you're talking about. Training for short sprint type races is entirely different than training for distance running. But the first thing I'd ask is, why are you trying to improve your running speed? Are you planning on competing in some form of running event?

It's just for my PT test. So, it's only a mile and a half run in a certain amount of time. I'm always on the line between passing and failing.

If it's just that, I would recommend starting with something like a 1/2 mile run, keeping the pace you need to do in order to make time for the longer run. Once that's easy, increase the distance slowly over time until you're running 2 miles in the time you need to run 1.5. Then you'll be ahead of the curve and not need to worry about barely passing.

immediately thought about the highschool DxD character named asia argento. weird

she was actually 27 when they were making that movie right? so if you're a 17 year old guy and you go into a hotel room alone with your hot 27 year old costar and start drinking, you don't wanna fuck? doubt it. desperate guy needs some money, time to dig up that dirt

Wasn't the movie they worked on in 2003 when he played her child? He was like 8 and she was 27. Then, years later when he was 17 and she was in her 30's is when she had sex with him. At least that's how I read it.

Regardless of laws and circumstances, it seems kind of fucked up and predatory to have sex with a kid who played your son in a movie when he was 8.

Disneyworld

I love the aesthetics and the food. My equilibrium isnt what it used to be so I cant handle too much of the intense rides they have at places like six flags.

Really? I went to Disney for the first time in 2016 and I was underwhelmed as fuck. Especially since we planned our whole vacation around it, got a 4-day pass and everything. We didn't even go to the park the 4th day, we were so bored and sick of it by then. Everything was grossly overpriced, the aesthetics, which everyone raves about, were meh imo, and the rides were super disappointing and dated for the mostpart. We a lot more fun at Cedar Point and Universal, even though I only spent 1 and 2 days there, respectively. I'd say Universal was probably my favorite amusement park overall.

TopicDo any of you regularly hangout with co-workers?

The way I work, I don't really have "co-workers" perse. I'm an independent contractor who has clients at multiple different gyms. That being said, I semi regularly hang out with the chiropractor at one of the gyms I work at. I also have several clients who I go to events and / or gatherings / parties with. I have one client who I go golfing with. One who invited me over to use her pool but I've yet to do that.

I also have friends or people I still stay in contact with from all of my previous jobs (except for my internship, that was only a couple months and most of the people I worked with there were much older than me). So yeah, I've always been very social with the people I work with. I find it's a great way to make friends you can see regularly.
