Had a topic that got some down votes, but the messages in the topic that echoed it were all getting up votes. I guess people who didn't like the topic just down voted it, while the people that liked it engaged. I don't think I like an up/down vote system in a forum. Seems like an extra layer of bs to deal with.

They don't have any reason to drive engagement. Gamefaqs could have a million daily message board users and it wouldn't make them much money. Message boards are dying and are only viable if they're not for profit or are treated as a side benefit attached to something profitable like Steam. Unlike other forms of social media you can't data mine message boards, and owners are liable for toxic users. The hot new thing is killing all your forums and telling everyone to go to Discord, this is what Ubisoft and a few other publishers have done.
Interesting...
I don't like it

Indeed. I even talked specifically about a specific genre

I obviously would never say that about fps
Photorealism, by definition, is not stylized. It's entite purpose is to emulate reality.

Photorealism is a genre of art that encompasses painting, drawing and other graphic media, in which an artist studies a photograph and then attempts to reproduce the image as realistically as possible in another medium.

Your insomnia gets worse and worse until you just can't sleep, and die from lack of sleep. Your mind and body just break down. Thankfully, it's exceptionally rare, but still... *shudders*

The disease has four stages:[6]
  1. Characterized by worsening insomnia, resulting in panic attacks, paranoia, and phobias. This stage lasts for about four months.
  2. Hallucinations and panic attacks become noticeable, continuing for about five months.
  3. Complete inability to sleep is followed by rapid loss of weight. This lasts for about three months.
  4. Dementia, during which the person becomes unresponsive or mute over the course of six months, is the final stage of the disease, after which death follows.
Clinically, FFI manifests with a disordered sleep-wake cycle, dysautonomia, motor disturbances, and neuropsychiatric disorders.
Other symptoms include profuse sweating, miosis (pinpoint pupils), sudden entrance into menopause or impotence, neck stiffness, and elevation of blood pressure and heart rate. The sporadic form of the disease often presents with double vision. Prolonged constipation is common as well. As the disease progresses, the person becomes stuck in a state of pre-sleep limbo, or hypnagogia, which is the state just before sleep in healthy individuals. During these stages, people commonly and repeatedly move their limbs as if they were dreaming.[7]

I mean some businesses already do this

1 in 10 of the of the companies surveyed said they were legitimately thinking of doing a 6 day work week. I dont think this is something to get up in arms about tbh
The article also makes it sound like many of those thinking of it will only have it for executives.

One in six said they think full-time employees should work more than 40 hours a week, and a whopping 76 percent said a six-day workweek would increase productivity.

I actually think the push towards realism takes away from the fantasy aspect. I'd like to see a return to more stylized graphics in games. The the landscapes and textures are too influenced by the engine for realistic look. I don't particularly care about high-end graphics, I want them to create a world.

The insanity was part of the appeal, but it was still put together. It had good cinematography. The pacing was good - fast, but a few well timed moments of relief. It had some great performances. An intriguing plot. A basis in reality. It had fantastic special effects. What sort of stuff did you find to be lacking?
