Like you said about chud, it's just a descriptor. A positive one, even, by your own admission. So it certainly shouldn't be considered flaming if "chud" isn't.

It seems to be very difficult to come up with a coherent argument for why one is bad and the other isn't.

Those two descriptors typically exclude any part of a person that's done themselves at their own discretion, i.e. voting republican. You wouldn't be called a bigot for being against republicans.

Describing someone as looking like an sjw because their hair is blue is therefore neither of those things either because that's their choice to look that way. Therefore, saying someone looks like an sjw can't be bigoted or a slur. Unless of course you think calling someone a chud is bigoted or a slur.

Really the first response nailed it, topic should have ended there. Whether it's an acceptable insult is a matter of opinion but it objectively is never used in a nice way or even a neutral way equivalent to i.e. just calling someone a liberal

After looking at the list of games in their curator list, the group is entirely justified and useful.
