Granted ICE are bastards and I fully support them having less power.

The context is that Sanctuary Cities are allowing known illegal aliens to be released from jail (if a judge allows bail) without informing ICE or holding them for deportation, knowing that they are in the country illegally. Some cities even have laws that would punish police officers if they inform ICE. It looks like this person is in the country illegally and was accused of shooting someone, but was released after the city ended what was known as a "278(g) program", which apparently kept inmates with ICE holds behind bars.

Cities are releasing known illegal immigrants back into society, even after committing more serious crimes.

Interesting question. If I think you're conveying what you are, Pence would not get a VP if he were to replace Trump, should Trump be impeached. VPs are elected by the people. For example, Trump can never fire Pence. Only not include him on the ballot in 2020.

CNN, of all places, came out with a poll yesterday saying 49% oppose impeachment and 46% support impeachment (all voters). Trump has high approval ratings among Republicans. To go against Trump at this point would definitely not be a good idea for Republicans.

If this is the same story I remember, then the tiny detail being left out by this article is that the guy was deported because he and a bunch of his friends broke into a family member's house and beat him until they thought he was dead and left him to die in his house over something trivial like a small amount of money owed.

It could have been a different story, but I remember there being some sort of deportation story that basically boiled down to the fact that the guy was an attempted murderer.

Maybe it is. Because this guy has a very lengthy criminal history.

Piggybacking from I Like Toast's post, I see very few circumstances where someone over the age of 25 is still working for the minimum wage after years in the work force while putting forth every effort to increase their wage.

There are plenty of opportunities to gain experience and advance your career to where you aren't making minimum wage. Become a shift leader, then become a manager. Or learn a skill or trade and get certified in that field. Move to a different company and market yourself with your experience so that you make at least several more dollars than the 16 year old who just got hired.

Generally with age, more experience comes and the ability to take on more responsibilities in return for a higher wage. If you didn't go to college or get certified with a specific skill or trade, your earnings may not be glamorous, but they shouldn't be minimum wage (in most cases) if you really apply yourself.

It's probably in Biden's best interest not to debate Trump, should he get the nomination.

They aren't required to. They could get some attention or pushback from not debating, but it would probably look better for them. They have horrible policies. It's stupefying. Trump would roast 'em on stage.
