Think of the major storylines in the old run and even the current one. The humor is there but it's because things are pretty screwed up. Also given that nearly everyone has said that the early footage keeps the story more serious but at the same time has the humor and other aspects from the comics and Raimi's movies, don't get the gripe here.
Not to mention Raimi killed off every villain in his movies except one. I can already guess how Spider-Man 4 would have ended.
OctilIery posted... I honestly like Maguire more as Spiderman, because at least Maguire understood that Spiderman isn't supposed to be a long, dark tale - it's lighthearted, and this whole "gritty" feel doesn't work.
Spider-Man has always been a dark tale. This comment is hilarious. I dunno if you're that in love with Raimi's movies or trying too hard to dislike the reboot and coming right in hating it.
Parents died in horrible accident. Bullied repeatedly in school. Social outcast. Uncle dies because he failed to stop crook. Girlfriend and first true love dies because villain found out his secret identity. City hates him at first.
Raimi's Spider-Man movies were about just that, Spider-Man. The Parker scenes were just there to keep the CGI budget from getting TOO outrageous. They sped through everything Parker related unless it directly interfered with him being Spider-Man.
According to people who attended the event in New York and LA and the footage shown, Andrew throws out quips left and right on thugs he fights. Yes, yes, yes. Must see this footage.
I hope they actually focus on the high school superhero aspect and don't time jump on us.
So we've got mechanical web shooters, Gwen Stacy (mmm Emma Stone), Captain Stacy hating Spider-Man, story involving Peter's parents and no insta-buff Parker?
But she's towing an anchor A junior investment banker Who's talkin' 'bout herself and not much more So buy her a beer It's the reason you're here Mighty Wingman You're takin' one for the team So your buddy can live the dream...
*high note* Wiiiiingmaaaaaaaan
Why is Coors Light marketing so great and their beer so bad?
I wonder if Beck would have whined this much if they had chosen Ben Reilly to replace Peter. Instead of a random new character out of nowhere they just created.
Fun fact about the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. Agent Coulson is in it.

Jeff Zero posted... Land Before Time started something big. Land Before Time II was too experimental. Land Before Time III was fun. Land Before Time IV introduced a darker and more serious plot but had some annoying twists like hardly anyone dying.
Land Before Time V wasn't very strong in the story department but made up for it with some neat gimmicks. Land Before Time VI is widely renowned but gets pretty controversial in its second half. Land Before Time VII definitely took the series to new heights but gets a lot of flak for it anyway. Land Before Time VIII was much more character-driven but had some really odd revelations like all the dinosaurs having come from the same egg or something.
Land Before Time IX is often credited with bringing the series back to its roots before Land Before Time X took it farther away than ever with a cool plot and an annoying lead. Land Before Time XI is still popular to this day but a lot of the core fans don't care for it. Land Before Time XII is infamous for its director walking away from it.
Land Before Time XIII was entirely too linear, man.
Caught the references and couldn't stop laughing. Bravo.
I'm thinking NoA feels those aren't realistic figures at all for some reason.
And I haven't been following this too closely except offhand comments from friends and the occasional ragerant on reddit, so 30k whatever, oh well.
Nintendo's made it clear they are going after the hardcore market with Wii U in America, they are probably not caring at this point what Xenoblade would sell. I'm going to play it either way, so it doesn't really matter. Import can get my money and show of support.
ShadowHalo17 posted... Why does it seem like no one but me ever likes Water Temples?
Oddly enough, they're always among my favorite temples in Zelda games. I guess because I have an affinity for water. I also looooove swimming around as a Zora and wish there had been more of it in Majora's Mask.
ShadowHalo17 posted... I wish there were enough Kingdom Hearts fans to rally and get Square to release the Final Mix versions of KH2 and Birth by Sleep in the US.
This is what I see happening.
KH3 is going to come with a pre-order bonus of those. For a crazy price. And we will pay, just like Re: Chain of Memories.
KimPilgrim posted... From: IcEpIcKRSF | #033 Because 30,000 sold copies MAYBE of Xenoblade/etc matters to NOA. If that. If you want to sit there and honestly say that Xenoblade is gonna sell less than half as many copies ****ing Opoona, be my guest.
It's NoA!
Why are people surprised by any of this? They are getting ready to focus all their attention on the Wii U now. But with this being NoA they'll probably change their minds before the end of this year and botch the release somehow.
