So I have been brainstorming ideas for special selections next year. Removing all ideas where I make the ultimate decision has brought me to three (probably lame) concepts:

Second Chance: A random user active in GotM is given the opportunity to select a game that was nominated by another user but not selected in the drawing. They will probably be notified early in the month and are free to give me a queue or something throughout of their preferred choices as the nominations come in so we can hopefully have everything decided shortly after the drawing.

User Special: Users give me a game whenever they want to. The earlier the better, and I suppose you can change it, but you can't nominate it as long as it's your special game. Maybe it's a game that you love and want to increase its exposure, see other people's reactions, or want to have an excuse to replay. Maybe it's a game that you want to play alongside others via co-op or in spirit with a game that should generate more discussion. Then 3-4 times through the year, I will have one of the designated games randomly selected, ending your participation in the special program. I know that it seems stupid as you would prefer to nominate it is selected, but with fewer than 10 users I would call active in GotM, you might have greater odds getting a particular game selected through this route as you are not allowed to have repeat noms for the "normal" drawing.

Leap of Faith: I come up with a theme similar to what I have been doing the past two years, but instead of me making the final decision, I will come up with 3-5 options and present them to everyone here to vote on. The twist will be that the game titles won't be given but vague descriptions instead. I think that I did that once for the Valentine's Day selection in 2017. I might have had our Discord channel decide it.

I'm aware that these are probably stupid compared to having holiday-themed and anniversary celebrations the past two years, but clearly I wasn't good at making decisions on my own, and I would like to have special months still go on. I'm open to suggestions.

NFL Draft Rules

1. When it is your time to pick, post your selection in the spreadsheet

2. 5 minute pick limit, which starts when I say something along the lines of "X team is on the clock"

3. If no pick has been made after 5 minutes, I will select the player for you

4. If a user is not present at the time they are on the clock, they will be auto-drafted via rule #3 until they notify me

5. I have full veto/approval authority over trades involving draft picks during the draft and unless you attend the live draft at any point, all trades involving draft picks must be submitted at least 72 hours prior to the start of the draft.

It came to my attention during that a recent conversation that people might have glossed over the NFL Draft rules. As people have become increasingly aware of over the seasons, running this league and the way that I do it takes a lot of time and energy. While plenty of it comes down to mind-numbingly tedious tasks (ugh stat PMs and anything contract related), some of it is quite vigorous.

There might not be a more strenuous task than running the NFL Draft for me given all the teams I draft for myself, instructions given to me, having to keep up with AI selections that I sometimes have to manually find out, constantly updating the draft board, and checking the 100-150 renamed players that I have to make sure things go smoothly due to not being able to officially rename until they are under contract or enter the free agent pool.

Last season had an absurd amount of trades occur within 72 hours of the first round kicking off, and by the time I got everything situated, I had no desire to run the draft. I was so emotionally drained. I felt I had to do a little something to prevent burnout, and I thought the time limit for draft pick trades was fair as draft pick trades during the live draft are still allowed.

I have a different ideology and approach when it comes to the draft (and really everything B8NFLL in general) than everyone else, so while I understand that me being late to adding in the LB and DB prospects could have had an affect on some people, I don't think that the draft board should be the primary reason for trades at this point . But as I said, I'm aware of my different thought processes, so I'm willing to compromise and make it a 48 hour deadline for this season, which gives everyone until 9 PM ET on Wednesday to propose trades using draft picks for this season if one, multiple, or all parties involved do not intend on attending the live draft on the day or days of the involved picks.

I defeated the first two bosses in Furi. I like all the fighting mechanics individually, but the transitions from each distinct combat setup are not seamless at all and would much prefer that there was a singular style for all phases.

On the flip side, I feel great as a Mavs fan! I came into the season hoping to see development in the young guys and to get the 8th seed in the West or a low lottery pick so it wouldn't be rough not owning a 1st next season.

Then, things got off to an ugly start except for Doncic, and I wondered if the pick going to the Hawks would even convey in the off-season. Now, everything looks great except DSJ dealing with injuries and inconsistency.

I was trying to do a speedrun for my second time through this, but after playfully chastising Ark for not having 100% completion, I felt obligated to go for it. Still, I managed to cut my time by about 25 minutes (I am pretty sure that I beat it in the 57-59 minute mark the first time), so perhaps I can say I accomplished both?

Glad to re-visit this though. I remember downloading this in I want to say 2015 because I liked the visual style and the gameplay looking like "it won't suck" or something along those lines. I don't know why it took me like a year to finally play it, but I instantly put the sequel on my wishlist after finishing it and beat the sequel earlier this year.

When it comes to PC gaming, I typically use my laptop for playing indie games. I know it can't run high-end stuff, and I've been trying to see the limits of it. I've had to lower graphics quality of Last Day of June from the default. I would post my specs if I knew what kind of specs everyone was listing, but I know that I have 8 GB RAM.

I will hopefully clean my wishlist up some and also make sure that the top 30 or so games are those that I can for sure play on my laptop, but I don't want anyone to feel pressured to pick a game or games from it if they don't want to. I am always up for surprises, and as a gift giver, I tend to do games that are both on and off of my giftee's wishlist.
