Do you people even like turkey? Every year I see the same topic saying it's a bland meat. You're killing millions of turkeys for a tradition you don't even like. Gross.

Furry and proud. Furries love sex and all, I just wish people like this would not target minors. It paints a bad picture for the otherwise wholesome community.

45 million. Let me put this in perspective. If each turkey were a person, that's like eating the population of the 24 least populated US states, largest being Oregon. For what? Thanksgiving? Disgusting.

This year, why not consider vegetarian options? There's tofurkeys and they taste great. Not wanting turkey? Impossible burgers are AMAZING and eating them reminds me of when I used to eat burgers. They're not vegan since they use the same grills as meat burgers, but at least no animal died for your meal.

You could be compassionate and eat vegetarian/vegan food, or eat the flesh of innocent animals that only ever wanted freedom. But before you do, put yourself in their position. How would you like it to be raised on a factory farm, having an awful life until you're eventually steamed alive, plucked, killed, shipped, frozen, thawed, cooked, and then eaten? You probably wouldn't like that. So why pay for people to do that to some innocent animal?

Boycott meat and have a cruelty-free Thanksgiving.

You couldn't. You'd have to do it with dishonorable tactics, like shooting it.

Good idea. I think I'll go find a bear and try that later on today, just in case I'm ever in a position where it becomes necessary. Thanks for the tip.

Carnivores in action, hurting innocent animals just because they can. It's a shame that these are the things that give you joy and make you feel like you're a strong one.

That's what the bear is programmed to do... its nature.

Good, I'm glad that you see nothing wrong with potentially becoming bear food.

I hope my reply didn't come off as unironic engagement. I'm fairly certain that I could not, in fact, defeat a bear in honorable combat.

All you gotta do is get big and yell "Hey bear" over and over again and they'll run away scared

Oh yeah, but don't do it to mama bears or they'll try to at minimum scare you off or maul you.

Of course.

You eat plants which animals eat. Now they're gonna starve.

I on the other hand mercifully put the animals that you starve out of their misery. So who is the good one?

This tired "argument" again?

Do you realize how many plants an animal needs to eat to grow the meat you eat? It's more efficient for the plants to go to humans and not force the breeding of animals just to create meat. But I guess you'd rather there be less food for people just because you want a steak every so often.

v_charon posted...
It's omnivore logic, I think. Also I like how you nominated "carnivores", presumably so you can rate them as "bad" when most meat-eating humans are not in fact carnivores. Not sure why you want to rate your animal friends so harshly.

Would you rather I use the term "carnist" which isn't well known outside of the vegan community?

NFUN posted...
why are you people unironically engaging with LJA?

Because I'm right and they hate it.

What's disgusting about that? Nothing. I'm literally drooling.

Have fun eating rotting flesh from some poor innocent pig that was force fed throughout its life only for you to cook its mutilated body for your own twisted desires.

The last time I had facon, it was among the most disgusting things I've ever had. I'm throwing up in my mouth just thinking of it.

And you somehow, in your strange carnivorous way of thinking, believe it's less disgusting to eat a part of a dead and rotting animal? Is this carnivorous logic?

Vegans are good. Unlike carnivores, we don't hurt hurt animals just to feed or clothe ourselves.

Bad for this reason.

I have a question for you. How would you feel if a bear took a look at you, saw you as food, and decided to kill and eat you? You're a hypocrite if you would feel this is any different than you doing the same to a chicken.

Good. I'm vegetarian but going vegan would be a bit too restrictive for me. I generally admire them.

Carnivores: Be more like this person. Sure, he's not a vegan. But that's fine, he's still doing a lot to prevent animal abuse. If we all at least became vegetarian, could you imagine how much better the world would be?
