These were loans in name only. It was just a mechanism to give businesses money with strings that were supposed to force them to use it on keeping people employed.

Blaming that on Biden (when he easily could have done nothing on student loans) is so dumb. The benefit that people got just by having interest frozen this long is pretty massive (far beyond when there was an *economic* justification from covid), not to mention him trying to cancel debt (whether that pans out or not).

Got my island to rank 14 last night and have made about 5M off of legendary node mats so far

Unfortunately it looks like combat materia prices are super low (I have like 999 of both the IX and X clusters I was planning to cash in). In fact, the prices are well below what they were before the patch! Hopefully they rebound by the end of the week or Im gonna feel like a sucker.

There are some tricks to getting a lot of money (in particular there are some synthesized items that sell for more than the cost of their materials), but yeah otherwise gil can be tight

They should have just killed it altogether (or effectively done that by raising it to some absurd number) when they had full control, but a combo of wanting to use it as leverage when they're out of power and being afraid of GOP attacks (very easy to convince people that don't understand the debt ceiling that raising it a ton is "irresponsible") stops them from doing that.

You can win fairly reliably when you get a good enough deck (especially if you save scum some of the strong cards from chocobo hot and cold for good arrow arrangements), but yeah the fact that bad rng can make you lost in a staked game is not ideal (as is the lack of an in game explanation for most of the mechanics).
